Weapon of Choice(handguns)(semi-auto)
So your running from a horde of zombies, you come across an abandoned military building. You get in but soon realize the place is not abandoned,you need to get out of there! There's a small table in front of you arranged with almost every type of semi-automatic handgun in the world. You don't have any where to put the guns so you can only take one or two.So which gun do you grab to get out of there?
Me? I'd go for a Socom SOCOM Pistol Mk 23 Mod 0 .45 ACP. Why? Well because it's compact,comes standard with a laser and silencer,has an extended clip,and in my opinion .45 ACP is one of the best rounds it's big,has decent peircing power and does'nt have to much kickback.

I'll be buying a Firestorm Deluxe 1911 made by Metro Arms, Philipines. I've read up on them and am impressed with the impartial(unpaid) reviews. Bang for the buck with this one.
The AR is still up in the air. I've corresponded with the gun dealer a number of times. He has new and used ARs in my price range. He talked of having a STAG piston gun that peaked my interest. Anything I buy, new or used, will get a thorough inspection before going out the door with me.

Just checked out the Firestorm 1911 over at guns america..not a bad looking firearm and good prices. and just checked out the stag arms model 8 (piston) nice looking AR with some nice accessories..flat top...flipup front sight...very nice....price is a little rough but hopefully the dealer your working with can get you a good deal. Damn now I want one :)

I don't know if I'll go with the STAG. They said they have a used Bushmaster with the A-3 upper. I just called in there a few minutes ago. They are waiting on UPS to see if the Firestorm comes in today. If it does I'll head down at about 3 P.M. gundealeronline is the site. It's easy to navigate and they have just about everything. I can afford the piston gun but then I'd have to pass on some other items I want. The regular gas system was good enough when I was in the ARMY and on CRT. I can work with it now too.

I like to go back to old threads and see where I was back then. I still have the Firetorm 1911 in 45acp. it is my off-duty open carry gun. She is dead on and a rocker. I've since bought and sold the Bushmaster I bought at the Gundealeronline store. Nice setup and I hope he's still going strong. As many who interact with me know, I've since obtained a federal firearms license and have built and sold several AR15 rifles. I also built a 1911 pitol in 45 acp. I've changed a few things on it over time and will stop when I'm happy someday I suppose. I've also done a few gunshows and sold many firearms and accessories. If you can catch a trend then you can make some money doing that. I'm still a full time police officer and do sales on the side to get ready for retirement in a couple years.

I would obtain a FN57 since it has great accuracy i never felt a lighter handgun in my life, its rounds are meant for armor pearcing ideal for penerating into the skull but the best weapon is something you need to keep steady "a sharp mind is the key to survival"

Since this thread started and ran its course I've bought and sold a few guns. I bought the firestorm 45 acp and wish I'd have bought two. I still have it and it is my go to gun if the SHTF. I ended up buying a Bushmaster carbine from the same dealer at the same time. The gun worked well but I decided to go on and do some other things. I no longer own the Cowboy guns I had for a few years. I obtained a Federal Firearms License (FFL) and have bought and sold a few guns since obtaining it. I have begun building and selling AR 15s. I was without one for a couple years before buying the Bushmaster and forgot how reliable and accurate they are. I've sold a number of builds and use one of my own for work. I can get any gun that the big stores can and have had a variety of different firearms pass through my hands. I'm not a wealthy person so I've found some gems at decent pricing.
It is really hard to screw up a 1911 pistol. Llama/Firestorm did it. If they'd have stayed with the simple formula they'd have been fine but they changed things. I don't know the reason. It doesn't mean they didn't make some decent individual guns but they screwed up and are no longer around for that reason. I've found that as far as "Bang for the Buck" I like the Philippine Guns. METRO Arms stopped importing the Firestorm (Metro Arms model not to be confused with Llama model) but they have their American Classic II pistols. Same guns, different roll marks. Look to ARMSCOR/Rock Island Armory. Very good guns that are gaining a following in the USA. There are some decent US Made guns too. Para, Auto Ordnance, and others. I'm not talking the big buck guns. There are some of those that, given the money, I wouldn't buy for my own reasons. If you have a 1911 it can be repaired from salvaged parts from other 1911s. Like the AR, the parts are interchangeable.
The AR15. In this very thread I said that I was thinking about getgetting AK. That will not happen again. I first laid my hands on an M-16 when I was 17 years old in Basic training at Ft. Benning, Georgia. I learned what an Infantryman needed to know about the rifle.That was many years ago. I then bought my own when I became a police officer. I carried one on CRT and continue to carry one today. I will own one until the day I die. I have no need for any other kind of carbine.
My next big purchase will likely be a Ruger M77 Gunsite Scout Rifle in 308 win. It is a bolt action with a 10 round dettdetachable magazine. The barrel is 16 inch and can get it done to at least 800 yards with optic. The scope is mounted ahead of the breach in order to affect quick target acquisition. The 308 Winchester/7.62x51/7.62 NATO is well proven as a hunting and battle round. It is common in the US and abroad. The Gunsite Scout rifle has a capacity, 10+ 1, beyond the everyday hunting rifle, with a 4+ 1 capacity. Just like the early Dragoons and other revolver black powder guns had the avantage over the musket type guns, the extra cap mag makes a heck of a difference if you happen to come upon unfriendlies when out hunting for food.

Really so a .50 cal desert eagle is the prefered gun of choice? The gun is more of a novelty than anything. Yes you can swap for a different caliber but then you must do a mag and barrel swap. So that would be extra mags and barrells and not to mention ammo you would have to carry not to mention the gun itself is over 3 pounds. You can have your 7-10 shot D.E. and ill stick with my 17 shot Ruger SR-9c 9mm and we will c who lasts longer.

I would take the kel tec pmr30. Its a 22magnum with 30rdmags. I would fill my pockets with at least 6 xtra clips. And I would grab a springfield xd 45 with 13rdmags. I would try to take as many xtra mags as I could carry.

I dont know why you would take a un-proven .22 into combat when you could take a ruger 10/22 or a ruger mark 7 both platforms are trused and reliable.
