I'm not talking about your own dog, but all the others whose owners are now zombies. Do you think they would form feral packs? Would they attack the zombies for easy meals? And if you came across a pack, would they attack you?

What I have read and been told by vets and professors is that dogs and wolves digestive systems are the same, so if wolves can digest bone then so can dogs.

difference whatsoever in the appearance of a wolf’s guts and the appearance of a
dog’s guts, except for the size difference that is associated with some breeds of dogs
being significantly smaller than wolves."
Uhm... my 17 year old dog, lived off a diet of Marrow and Kangaroo bones... he only threw up when we fed him commercial dog food.

i think 17 years of life from a Kelpie who ate next to nothing but bones kinda blows what you've been told outa the water PapaToad...

He also liked to bury his more... "Fleshy"... Bones for later and let them rot a little
Interesting points, but let's forget about digestion. I'm more interested in whether dogs would go for zombies. I can definitely see a starving dog eating a corpse. An even more desperate dog I reckon would easily attack a slow moving zombie. In packs I think they would become more confident, and actively hunt zeds(and any slow humans maybe). What do you guys think? Could we even train them to be our own little hairy warriors?
Some people have suggested that zombies flesh would be toxic to dogs and they would either stay away, or would become ill or die if they did bite or eat zombies. As long as that's not the case and if they can't be infected by biting or being bitten by a zombie, I think dogs could be very useful in fighting zombies, especially trained protection or police dogs.

Even if they can't be used in actual fights due to danger of toxicity or infection, dogs would be useful as an early warning alarm to warn against approaching intruders/zeds. They could even be used to track down zombies in order to check/clear an area. I might make a video on this topic, you can see some photos of my "zombie patrol dog" on my page.

As far as whether or not they would attack a zombie, I think a very hungry dog or dog pack would definitely do so. There is no doubt that they will eat corpses, even completely tame dogs have been known to eat a corpse if they're starving.
same breed infected dogs will probly either kill the weak in there pack or just go lone wolf and kill each other small dogs are killed and eaten with no chance of infection.
of course they would form packs atleast the ones who do not starve to death locked inside. truth be told feral dogs would be even more dangerous then the zeds
