dry your own foods now - esp veggies - carrots, celery, mushrooms, garlic, etc. A low cost low watt one like Popeil's is the way to go. Most everything dries in 24 hours. Also stock up on dry beans, rice, instant mashed potatoes, soup mixes, etc. Lighter to carry than anything canned. Also, ziplocks and tin foil and invest in several knife/flint combos you can find on ebay for about $6 each.
i just have a bag that says "zombie survival attack kit".im making a kit and runnin of to my friends house.0_0
The only faith i have is in me and the numerous boxes of ammo i have with me and my ability to survive as for other supplies i have the basics a few hundred rounds in standard calibers rifle pistol and shotgun and then about 2,00 .22 rounds a couple of machetes and about 8 different types of survival and tactical blades, about 40 cases of MRE so that's about 480 meals and you only need one of those about every other day to still be able to function, then i have navigation gear( military compass and map of the area i live in, crank radio to listen to the world, uniforms, vitamins( lack of vitamins can be one of the worst things in any survival situation), fishing gear for when i get to my planed location which is a secluded lake house that is about 2 miles off of any recognizable road and that road is not commonly traveled, the building is made of stone and runs off of wells and solar power, military sleeping bags, 5 large propane tanks that are usually completely full if not they usually have something in them, 5k military generator, a military 6 by truck, CB radio set up, and a sharp mind, as well as friends with plenty of knowledge
nice but, what is your backup plan?
Well since all all of the ammo and most of the gear is already at my house except for the food which is at my safe house, i could always stay at my house, but the safe house is only about 25 miles from my house so i could drive it through back roads or even walk it which would be less distance since i would cut across fields and what not, but back of plan is probably hold up at home or try to make a run towards Camp pendalton, or MCAS Miramar
25 miles is quite a distance... especially with hungry zombies wanting a taste of you... it would be better to just split the guns and and food between both the safehouse and your house.
well i have all of my weapons were i spend most of my time at home, at 25 miles is not that far i could do that full gear in about a day and like i said its only 25 miles if you stay on the road probably somewhere near 20 if you cut across the open fields and i have a truck with 4wd so i could make it there with that pretty easily.
Better train running in your full pack. Not to say it can't be done. I believe it would take less then 8 hours but when you're fired up from an attack and have that first huge burst of energy from fighting and running you can burn out no matter how "In Shape" you are.
It would probably take me longer than 8 hours because i wouldn't do it full speed i would try and be as quite and stealthy so i wouldn't attract more attention, but i train with a full pack i wear a 60 pound weighted vest everyday
If you're bailing cuz your place got overrun you'll be at full speed for a bit. Not that it can't be done but ya gotta take everything into perspective.
OH i know if i was over run i would be hauling ass till i got away from the mob but if you run full speed eventually you'll start moving slower and get caught, but i also know all the territory on the way to my safe house like the back of my hand i know the places that you have to climb to go through and could loose zed if i needed to, but as long as my truck still works i don't have to worry about that, and i also have two other cars i could use
Keep em running.
