If there was a weapon that you can choose to have- and is common, what would it be?

i'd say get some stripper clips for your STANAG magazine so you can reload the mags themselves quicker
a spud gun or airgun is good for its power and you can fire homemade stuff like
pipe bombs
smoke bombs
fireballs (lol)
cut dowels with nails in them
concrete slugs
bolts, nails, screws
marbles
arrows
darts

i would choose a mace for close combat. the kind with like cone things not the ones with those long nails sticking out

hers a good one: a bat with a 1' nail in it and nail or weld a spring a little shorter then the nail to the bat so when you hit your target it flys back out so your ready for your next one

and for lots of zombies or to deter them you can do this:
get a 2 litre bottle (or any kind you can find) and fill like 1 cup of bleach then add 1 cup of ammonia then close the lid and quickly throw. it will explode doing damage and spry toxic acid at the same time

molotovs would be cool for lots of them for far away cuz by the time they get close to you the fire will have already got to there brain or just killed them

homemade plastic explosive would be nice but hard to make. you can get supplise from raiding houses drug stores and if possible trade with fellow survivers for some

some tools you have to carry with you would be
bolts cutters
crowbar
knives (also can be used as screw drivers)
some needlenose plyers
a hacksaw
i think the m-14 would be the best becuse you dont want an auto matic cuz it will wast you ammo. you want a good steady shot from a gun with a lot of power. andi think the best hand to hand wepon is a katana or a machete. (bad spelling)
A true M14 is select fire, meaning they can go from safe to semi to full (I think thats the order) with the flip of a switch. The civilian version is known as the M1A, a very accurate rifle indeed.
I enjoy two Trench Knifes, brass knuckle style. Made in WW1 and used for the puncture of enemy helmets (which is MUCH stronger than a Zombie skull) and quick maneuverability makes this an excellent close range weapon.
Ak 47 on single shot setting.
aluminum bat or bar - excellent strength and light weight.
glock 9mm as my side arm of choice.
This is good for close range brutaility.
An M4 is a good idea if you can get your hands on one. I'd personally have an AA-12 fully automatic shotgun for close range, shotgun shells are plentiful and easily obtainable so that wouldn't be much of a problem. Also I would want some sort of rifle for longer range such as an M1 Garand, and for mid range Have dual pistols, preferably something more common for easy ammo finds, like a 9mm. Then as a backup have something very large and very sharp, like a katana or machete.
lol i would load my self down with some hand guns and a short double sided axe a keep over my bed
I would use either a sword or a shotgun with a pistol grip
i would prob use a desert eagle
