My ideal hideout would be a rooftop because there is only one door up and i can weld it shut or barricade it, i would have my arsenal of weapons with me including but not limited to my .308 sniper rifle, my SC20K, my G36C, and of course my M4A1 asault rifle with an M203 grenade launcher and an ACOG scope. from there i would have all my weapons, my food, my girlfriend, and all my still alive best friends.i wouldnt have to worry if one of them became infected somehow because i could just push/shoot them off the roof. and i would have a great vantage point of any nearby zombies...kinda like the S.T.A.R.S. members in Resident Evil 2, just without the Tyrant

Just like skinnin a deer. You can make a hat outta their pelt.
putting it in the simplest of terms...wherever people ARENT.. Ill elaborate on it later.. if you all promise to be good
yeah, wherever people aren't... I'm thinking in the woods somewhere. I envision the place being some miles away from a major highway. A top a clear cut hill (but the base of which are surrounded by dense vegetation).

Ideally A two story brick home with heavy doors (with heavy bolts and heavy duty hinges), windows on the first floor will be barred. The down stairs would contain minimal supplies. A few weapons, alarms, minimal foodstuffs... all this is kept thataway in case the first floor gets overrun, I wont loose a whole lot of my supplies..

Second floor will have only one staircase access, which should be jerry-rigged to break away in the event that the second floor is overrun...or better yet, rig a attic style stairway, for additional security would set up a secure door on the upstairs entry infront of the stairs. Second floor should contain non-parishable food stores, water stores (Would also try to rig it to where I could have well access via plumbing to upstairs sinks if not already available). Firearms, ammunition would be primarily stored here, as well as a workbench and tools and cleaning supplies (for maintenance and repair for home and weapons). Windows needn't be boarded or barred. However, most windows should have some form of escape (rope ladders or ziplines to the bottom of the hill).

The hill, as i stated, should be clear cut...giving me the ability to see anybody who is approaching with enough time to secure the home or even snipe them as they draw near. However the vegetation around the hill should be dense enough to make it difficult for zeds to approach the home.
id try to steal a rv, boats are good too. but i would stay away from walmart. im sure if it was open 24 7 like most are it will be crawling with the undead
Well if everyone stays away from Wally World I guess I'll go there. But then again I am well armed.
im just going to loot target
A bomb shelter in my back yard full of food, water, and ammo and it has a underground tunnel connected to another bomb shelter 15 minutes away that also has alot of food, water, and ammo

You're wellcome to come along.
Nice little island get away, but is there food there?...
i would have a bunker on a cliff(natural wall)with a normal house on top.it would be by a lake(water source), in the middle of nowhere(less people = less zombie food so they wont waste time shambling all the way out here for just three or four people), with a large garden(food), preservation tools like a food dryer,(to eat outside of harvest season) and solar panels(power). i would stockpile lots of magnesium, dig a big(8+ feet deep) trench around it and sound proof it so that whenever zombies actually found us, they would fall in the trench and we could burn them with the magnesium as kindling. we would have some weapons but ideally would only have to use them as often as an average building experiences a fire drill.
Magnesium is not exactly an abundant resource, it also produces an enourmous ammount of light when it burns (although it has to be said it would melt through everything except the bone of the zombie i guess), plus it would have to be protected from rain water given the oxidation of it. Wouldn't it be better to just use regular old petrol or maybe even like parafin wax if you could get enough.

Asides from that you would be pretty much invinsible to zombies haha :P
Probably a 2 story school
