I had typed out much more and added some pics in this post but I guess I hit the max allowed space. Not enough time to do it again but I will continue and finish my thoughts this evening.

Why I carry what I do. It isn't hard to understand. The 45acp will drop you even at distance. it has enough mass to make a difference. Even if you don't get a kill shot the 45acp will slow down a human target and a zed long enough to give you an edge. Knocking something down while you're on your feet and moving could mean life or death. The same can be said if you are down on your back with no help in sight. In a SHTF situation the 45acp will be on my hip or on my thigh. It will be there to be seen by any who care to look. In my hands it is deadly, as is any round I decide to utilize.

All that being said, the ZPOC/SHTF/TEOTWAWKI didn't happened yesterday or today and likely won't happen tomorrow. I am a believer in protecting one's self and protecting others. I wouldn't be in my chosen profession if I didn't believe that. The 45acp can be a heavy round for carrying concealed. The larger caliber takes larger weapons, for the most part. I know, I know, there are smaller 45acp pistols. Remember I carry a Glock 30 at work. At one point my department carried Glock 22s and Glock 27s. 40S&W caliber pistols. I was working undercover and carried my own Glock 27. when I finished working undercover our department decided to move up to the Glock 21 for patrol and the Glock 30 for investigators. I retired my G27 to home defense and a concealed carry gun for my wife. The caliber intimidated her at the time and the pistolgrip was as bit thick for her smaller size hands. I showed her a 380acp pocket pistol I got in stock after obtaining a federal firears license. She liked the feel and after shooting it found the recoil to be very agreeable. I sold the old G27 and now my wife shoots and carries (without my nagging) a Taurus PT738 TCP. It doesn't have the ballistics of the 40S&W and it doesn't even have the capacity (6+1) of the bigger gun(10+1) but she carries it and has learned to shoot it. She is prepared to do what she has to and can protect herself and fight her way home if needed.

After seeing how much my wife liked her new survival tool I remembered how much I liked my old Colt Mustang 380acp. I sold it in order to buy the G27. I got to researching. The PT738 is a little small for my grip. I also like a little more capacity. If I'm working or if the SHTF I'll be strapped with a 45acp 1911 or G30. I want something a bit more comfortable to carry if I'm just out and about on my off time or working around the compound. I found what I was looking for in the Taurus PT638 Pro. It is a 380acp medium framed pistol with a 15+1 capacity. There are a lot of similar size 380acp pistols on the market at varying price points. This one matched my needs. So I found something I can easily conceal, I like how it shoots and the csliber is sufficient to get things done. I already had 380acp ammo for my wife's pistol so it's only one extra caliber but it gives me choices in the ZPOC too. Now I need to get hold of 380acp dies for reloading. Here are a couple pics.

The 638 in my homemade Crossbreed Holster Clone.

638 with 2 mags

Most of the Weapons i would choose would be concidered sidearms... At least 2 Jericho 941s a Few various sized knives and a Taurus Raging Bull .44
m9a1 or 1911, maybe a glock and definetely a .357 revolver
Ooooo, gotta love the revolver i would steal my mom's .38 special....
any one of these will do for me

1. Ruger P944 .40
2. Glock 23 .40
3. Ruger LCR .38spl

not really a side arm but a good idea apart from loading is the .177 stoeger air rifle-powerful, quiet and ammo is small and compact

M93 Raffika because there is Single Burst, 3 round burst and automatic. And with the 30 round clip Its a beast

My Glock 19 on my right hip and my Glock 38 on my left thigh.

When I saw this I initially thought it was a joke.
