For the Lost Zombies game, I was wanting a z-poc simulation, MMORPG, first-person shooter. Since this is a community project, I was wanting to know what kind of game you wanted.

I only play FPS games. third person is confusing to play in, top down, scrolling arcade-style and text based is not fun for me to play.
I like realism and ability to use all kinds of weapons or improvised weapons, ability to interact with the world (like seen in Half Life 2 or Deus Ex 1) a destructible environment (like seen in Fry Cry or Crysis) would be really cool and add to realism.
obviously writing a game of that detail & complexity is probably beyond lost zombie's abilities, a single player or multiplayer mod of an existing game is more doable. such as a mod for the dated Deus Ex / HL1 (that everyone should be able to run no prob) or a mod for the newer, higher detail, more interactive environments such as found in Crysis (which not everyone's PC can run).
some craziness like found in Postal 2 would make the game more fun.
unfortunately I don't play any flash-based games. often time the specific controls setup makes game play difficult (I have customized controls).

Permalink Reply by Michael T. Douglas on August 20, 2011 at 6:00pm Yeah, I saw it. I think it would kickass cause Crysis 2 did. Hey, if you have time, you'd be a big help to the Lost Zombies game.
holy shit, 16 x 16 km? that's a big map! rather than create a custom map, its probably easier to copy a local town or major city (if you live in one) instead. use something like Google maps/earth to build upon.
First that's ultra-realistic, and second its not all imaginary, I can't imagine anyone having to juggle something that big in their mind! also its more relate-able since chances are some of us has visited the place or live in that place. maybe the first few maps are based on real-world small towns that are surrounded by km and km of a generic forest or countryside or desert. they would probably be easier to make, and could use existing GIS / 3D CAD models. that could save alot of time & effort.

maybe just an FPS without the S....
I have always wanted to see something along the lines of Grand Theft Auto with Zombies. I like the concept of a game in which missions are more or less optional and gameplay is spread out over a large geographic area. I am a fan of third person shooters because I feel like (especially in this case) you can make up for the sensory loss of peripheral vision and touch by seeing the subjects in relation to your avatar.
