What made you a believer?
I was just wondering what made everyone on this site a believer. Was it something you've seen? Do you just believe that theres alot out there that isn't fully understood? Did those cool zombie movies give you the ideas? Or are you just really paranoid? Not being sarcastic, but I am curious about what got you becoming a believer. Outside of Voodoo and a certain parasite found in the south: do you believe in something killing people and then reanimating them into flesh starved killing machines? I believe in the idea of a pyschotic dictator funding his even crazier scientists to create "the perfect soldier" or virus to help him gain control or more fear over the more powerful nations. His way of evening out the playing field. Watching as other nations fall into chaos. But then again, I may just need professional help. lol But either way, tell me what you think.

zombie flicks mostly...NOTLD got me started...rented all the zombie movies i could after that one n then bought em all lmao...
imagination kinda went from there and branched out to books and such...
i agree with the dictator or government thing, like the umbrella corp...bout the only way anything is gonna happen...somebody trying to create a weapon or just messing around witha virus and messing shit up...

Actually, someone else mentioned nanobots and nano tech being as advanced as it already is. Never know when it comes to desperate companies and/or heads of state.

True. "World War Z" was an amazing book. Read it about 5 times and it totally seemed probable. It even got me doing some research. lol

Until not long ago, I didn't know anything about zombies or zombism.
Strangely enough, the first thing that got me close to the genre was when I watched a non-zombie movie that a couple of my friends told me about that had just been released, I Am Legend.
Well I fell in love with the movie, and soon after the book, and the concept of an apocalypse via a virus first came to mind, and it intrigued me immensely.
I hadn't seriously considered zombies at this point. I had no idea what they really were, truthfully. Then one night we had a movie night at a friend's house and watched a movie I'd never heard of - Land of the Dead.
Not the best movie, and I had to be told that those creatures were zombies ('cause I really had no idea what they were). And then I put two and two together and realize that the premise was remarkably similar to a viral apocalypse like I Am Legend.
So I looked up movies like it, fell in love with the 28 series and some zombie movies like Dawn of the Dead and such, and I became hooked on zombism.
What I guess made me into a believer was the storyline behind movies like 28 Days Later and I Am Legend. I researched, and discovered that this stuff is actually possible (and those would be the closest we could ever get to zombism), that there can be a viral outbreak with similar symptoms.

I gotta say what clinched it for me was the book "World War Z". I've had ideas about it before because of "Dawn of the Dead" and other movies like it, but never really had any reason to think about it. Then after that book I really stepped it up on my research and all the possabilities. I was just reading something on "human rabies", crazy stuff.

i saw dawn of the dead, the remake a few years ago and enjoyed the atmosphere and the idea they were trapped in the mall without hope of rescue or leaving... didnt really like the zombies though, still dont like the running zombies so much.
that movie got me into other horror's and eventually i came upon Lucio Fulci's Zombie... cant stop thinking about zombies since. haven't read any books yet but soon...soon...
