i didnt say i disapproved of it. and dont worry about any argument capable...thing... anyways the only thing i personally have against forests is that im an urban junkie so anything i would say against it is because i havent actually done anything extensive in a forest in a long time

I have land up north thats on a mountain, about 3/4 of the way up a fairly large mountain to be more exact. My grand dad fenced it off years ago with a 10' high chainlink fense. There is a small cabin up there now, but I plan buildng a compound up there in the future. If thats done, before any type of apocalypse hit that is where I would want to be. If all plans go the way I want them to, and funds hold out(I have some family members on board to help fund it) it will be well secured, and well stocked with food, ammo, live stock, and sustainable energy source from solar and wind. Water wont be a issue, it has a very large stream that runs down the mountain, and a large well drilled that has plenty of clean water.

 

If everything goes to plan thats where I want to be.

good set up but things rarely ever go according to plan, just be ready for that other wise I'd say your one of the lucky ones.

I would be deep in an uninhabited area preferably the forest. Advantages are it's hidden, lots of resources, if rescue were to come by air i would have already cleared an opening for a flare. Really it's quite obvious. Disadvantages, really only one that I can think of is it would be hard to find an alone area simply because a lot of people would do the same.

I disagree. I think that if a zpoc hits the vast majority of the population is going to be affected by a the spread itself. Not to mention that there are hundreds of thousands of miles of wilderness that hasn't actually been charted in the united states alone. Being alone itsn't going to be the problem.

Really i recently read the zombie survival guide and it said lots of people would be there thanks for the info. thats not my full length plan anyways its just some basic stuff ill do

zombie survival guide not a real guide book. you wanna see the hardship of living alone in the forest theres this great show i guy did where he went into the woods (and i mean deep no sign of another human for so long you have to take a plane ride in deep) for something like six months and recorded everything. he brought food and gear with him but he quickly blew through all the food he had and even though he was in one of the best possible locations near a lake with plenty of fish he still had a horrible time. i don't remember the name of but check it out and tell me if you still think the woods are great. also yeah me and jer some times disagree but we really cool. are arguments just tend to get heated on that rare topic where we argue.

Ya sorry about that but is the zombie survival guide good for advice on zombies its meant for that not the woods. and if the woods are so bad what would be a good place? And i dont plan on being alone. plus the woods are just a fallback shelter for my group. mainly i would have set base at a home. Would the military nuke a highly infested area

zombie survival guide is debatable. some say yes some say no me personally i like the zombie combat manual, i think its much better then the ZSG. i'm not saying the woods aren't good just be prepared for it. have a lot of experiences or have some one with alot of exspirance in jungle survival. nothing is ever easy. not would we nuke an infested area i would say no, because if their is some kind of functioning government and they did launch every other country with nukes fearing it was going for them would launch. so we did launch it would be at our enemy's to stop them from launching then its just another cold war scenario. our nukes pass each other in the air and... well you know the rest. hopefully anti missile defenses will shoot most down. but if one gets through or detonates high in the atmosphere that would send an inter country back to the stone age. emp nothing but the most hardened electronics survive. cars, computer, power, generators, solar ,everything with a microchip which is everything is gone. i wouldn't worry about nukes though. i would worry more about the thousands and thousands of nuclear power plants around the world. if something happens to those, well remember Chernobyl or japan. imagine japan if countless workers weren't their to contain it. and that's not the worst. you see nuclear power comes from the decay of nuclear material which causes extreme heat which boils water to create steam to turn turbines. now when this material reaches a certain point it becomes unusable in power plants. but it is still very dangerous. so they put it in special facility. imagine a giant pool filled with radioactive material. thousands of nuclear bombs worth. now water has to be constantly pumped in to keep that pool full cause the material boils away the water. now when the power goes out generators take over and keep the water pumping but soon those generators are gonna run out of fuel. and when that happens the water stops and when the water stops the pool gets shallower and shallower until the nuclear material is exposed and then boom. and these places are like power plants their every where.

that sounds awful way to die. Thats why i resort to the forest because any power plant that meltsdown i will be out of there. Ill look into the zombie combat manual Thanks

your welcome and that's only some of things that will go wrong after post zday. there are millions of gallons of compressed gas's in storage facility's in this country alone with no one left to keep them inc heck they will explode covering city's in poison gas.
