unless you are where it first starts, schools will shut down and businesses will temporarily close, and some of us have plans for first contact :D

Yes but there may be a snag along the way. Too many infected between you and the objective, thieves, military, family, all stand between you and a perfect plan.

i don't like the wording of this question...  having only 1 plan is suicidal, as it's based upon the idea that everything goes as you wish.  in the end, having as many contingency plans as possible is your best bet, while not committing to much emotionally to any of them.  You might favor one aspect, and attempt that one plan to work, when it actually won't causing you to delude yourself and your group, resulting in the death of everyone.

the only real plan you can have is o be prepared far in advance, having all gear and knowledge properly stored, and practiced  (reading about it and doing it are far diff. things.  no one can start a fire with sticks just by reading about it... you have to actually do it to fully understand it) Doing this, you keep yourself as mobile as possible, which means you can adapt to the situation as it comes along.  That's the only hope. 

Also, i will put a bullet into any person who thinks they are gonna tag along and just smoke dope...  i have better uses for my rations of food and supplies than to keep alive a useless individual.
