Get out of town and find a place that you can fortify but still have at least three escape routes. Good Luck and Stay Smart.

I suggest barricade yourself, but leave a way to get out in an emergency, don't have too much equipment or you will be slowed down, just keep the essentials and some weapons. Keep medical equipment close. Oh and avoid areas that would be naturally highly populated (malls, hospitals, etc.) Especially hospitals. Keep in mind, when people get injured, where do they go? That's right, the hospital.

Sounds good and has worked here. Have a safe area created by basically doing that.
