There are many kinds of vehicles with many advantages and disadvantages. Some are right for one survivor's situation and no another's. When the zpoc hits, what would you choose for transportation, and why?

NOTE: "vehicle" includes any sort of transportation

P.S.-- Please make it practical to obtain this vehicle. ex: if you don't have a pilot's license, don't pick an F-22 Raptor
well there goes my drastic plan

probably a Hybrid car, not only great mileage, but you never know if cars are the reason for the zedapocattack....save the trees.....

and the added bonus that its compact size will be handy in getting through smaller areas......

Stryker APC convert a good amount of the troop seating area to extra gas storage and you've got a vehicle with a lot of legs that is virtually unstoppable. I don't know the first thing about how to drive it but what the hell, you said anything.

P.S. A solid 2nd choice would be the MRAP that the US Army just started using, a friend of mine just got back from Afghanistan and he says those things are tops.

I have 7 horses. I can go where no motorized or wheeled vehicle can go. Try to keep up ;)
About $12000 for this as it sits.

that's what I'd be looking for too, except there are no dealers around here and I'd probably end up stealing one from a national guard depot (which has very few guards and its mostly offices)

or a 4x4 SUV. I need something huge, able to go just about anywhere, and easily punt obstacles out of my way, whether its stopped cars or a mob that has decided to surround me and see if they can take my stuff (at that point I'll probably just run them over).

They are customized. You can't buy a duece like this from the military and dueces aren't made new even in the 6x6 versions. A deuce at auction will go for between $1500 and $2500. Running or not. There a re a couple places that customize them. ONe place's minimum price is $3000.
Ive been looking at that 4 door bobbed deuce for awhile. Its not something I think I would do for my first duece. I would want one I play with a little, so maybe the single. I would like to get one of the 4 doors though as a bugout vehicle. Fuel mileage sorta sucks in those things though, and eventhough diesel will be more plentiful, I still wonder about it. However, those things will run on kerosine and some form of aircraft fuel too. So maybe its nothing to worry about.
The one in the pic is from the site you posted. I found it a couple months ago. The cab is armored up fiberglass. MOst Deuce engines are multi fuel. Diesel, Kerosene and Bio Diesel.
Yea Ive seen them run run on kerosene, bio diesel, and regular diesel. Ive heard that they will run on low octane airplane fuel, but I have not been able to verify that at this point. A armoured 4 door deuce would make a great bugout vehicle. They get about 14 miles per gallon on the highway at 60 miles ahour. At that speed you can still load them down with a huge load and not worry about running out of fuel. Not to mention the fact that you can put several tanks on them, which is exactly what I would do for my bugout vehicle. The large amount of supplies you would be able to carry with you makes it worth it. My plans aren't to keep traveling, just get to my destination. Carrying extra supplies is still a nice thing.
Imma stick wit a mountain bike. Small, light, easy to use, quite, easy to maintain, easy to find, easy to ditch, easy to manuver. My top pick for a vehicle in cae of the zpoc.
