Permalink Reply by PRIME_Ω_PREDATOR on April 16, 2012 at 12:15pm Well if it comes down to it I have a way out but for the most part I'll dig in. If things get hairy I can move around my area and use my home as a hub for supplies and communication. Kind of like still in my comfort zone but out of it. I live in a rural area so there is plenty of room to move around and avoid large groups of zeds and humans. I do have a network of a couple people locally. We can turn to eachother if needed.
Permalink Reply by the death of saint.357 on April 16, 2012 at 1:06pm well my first plan is to bug in but if i have to get out i got a couple routes planed. one of them is travel a mile or so to this large river to minuet drive under normal conditions. get a boat or make a raft of some kind and once I'm out on the water i have some options but one of the ones i will take is to head down it towards the new york harbor and stop of at the shooters island bird sanctuary. its uninhabited preoutbreak and i don't think many people will think to go there, if its zombie free I'll use it as a staging area to get more supply's for my next step will will probably be sailing around the coast of this great country of ours raiding for supply's. that's one of the many plans i have in place. basically it all depends on what news i get post outbreak. but i plan to ride out the post cause by bugging in for at least 3-4 weeks.

Home sounds like the closest place to your heart to find that safety in, but then, sooner or later you'll wish you never made that decision. If your 'home' is an appartement, chances are that if your building gets invaded with zombies, there's surely no way out for you, unless you make your way quietly to the rooftop and camp there till Jesus Christ's reincarnation.
If your 'home' is a house, make sure it's not located in the City because you don't want to be trapped inside your own home, sooner or later again, something might get the zombies' attention and I'm sure none of us would wish for that. Now if your home is located in the countryside, chances are that you can get away with it. Use it as your ground zero until you're ready to move to some other place, I mean from there, no one knows what's gonna happen in the world next.
I'm located in Canada, so it's either the Rockies or make my way to Alaska. There is one issue here if you plan to go all the way to the mountains. If you run out of food and gaz, how can you make it to the nearest town or city to get more supply? Some would say we can hunt for food like cave people used to do, but i'm affraid that even that could be a burden. How many people live in your location, how many would be out there hunting and probably that stupid to attract zombies to your haven. Fish and water can save your life but even then... Hope there will still be government to bring us back what belongs to us, our world.
