Just curious to where everyone was heading or gathering during the outbreak, for survival.

Straight home. Try to be quiet and wait a few days for the panic to 'die'... then head out... no place particular, just keep moving.

Get(Steal) a Van Fill it with gas and gas cans to the brim. , find nearest military base raid it for weapons.
Then Go Shopping and run for the mountain

i`m pretty sure they will be off somewhere else stopping the Dead from getting a foothold, leaving little to no one to guard the base.
Don`t forget i dont live in the u.s so our military bases are not as big, more like a depot + a forest, firing range and some bunks :P
But in the case of guards i`m sure i could charm my way into the base in a military disguise, know how recruits or guards fear of screwing up, so use that against them.
Psychology 1O1- it`s not like i`m trying to enter the pentagon. Heh

lol, i know this base in and out, i can easily get into the area by going thru gaps in fences that i knew of as little, If not just need a plier.
This area are very little guarded at times, especially during a outbreak/ rioting/ Major training exercises- that would happen in the full scale that a Zombie scenario would put forward.
also here in my country if caught i`d be likely to be put in the "brig" than shot on sight as you would risk in the U.S, So please dont get smart with me, i lived in that military base area most my childhood life ( not inside but on the outskirts of the base) :)
its mainly used as a firing range and march exercises. But it would hold weapons.

Luckily I'm out in the country so I will have a certain degree of time to sit down and have a think. Yes I have a general idea of what option I have but im 100% sure that the situation I have prepared for will not be the situation that I will face.
Everyone here always says they will never go near a shop at the start of a bugout but what if their daughter/son is there etc?
Whatever plan we all have will at the very least need to be changed because of factors we can't control at the time of the disaster.
As a rule of thumb I will check the news/internet, check on immediate family and prepare for a hike. Whatever major disaster that comes being away from large towns will mostly be a good thing.

The castle down my street............... well, not a legitimate ancient castle (oklahoma, so yeah) but some guy less than half a mile down my street built a life size, replica fort style castle. the wall is cinderblock covered in stone. Open roof, lookout tower, stables, the whole deal. looks pretty secure, and from what we've seen it has video surveillance (the entrance for the horses has a castle style guard gate and video cameras, so we expect full surveillance in other places). plus, extremely nice people who i doubt would have a problem with us staying during the zpoc.

Is this the guy whom are very secretive on how he built the castle?
Is it the castle which sorta came to life over a period of 2-4 weeks?
