I am located in SW FL. and when the time comes my final destination will be Fort Jefferson in the Dry Tortuga islands. (see attachment)  My group of 10 men and ther familes will head for our fully supplied boat and head S.by SW. when i am assuming the rest of the population of S. FL. will head N. to get out of the state. So where is your final destination?  and why?

If I find proof that you have killed at least 300 zeds, I will build a plaque for you in my new Zed infested world.
You know, I have no idea where my "final destination" would be. I really plan on just keeping moving and holing up where I can for days/weeks at a time until my location becomes compromised. There's really nowhere great like Warwick Castle where I'm at. Living in a city is not a good thing.
Well the first thing you would need to do is get out of the city.... and after checking your area I myself would head to Fort Osage Historic site remember even a turn of the century fort is better than nothing... if the original occupants could survive indian attacks there you should be able to fend off a large horde of walking dead. I would check it out...
Well. My family and I would head to my place of work which happens to be on a military base. From there we would climb aboard the ship I work on and head out to the harbor and anchor out. We have multiple small RIBs onboard which would give us the abilty to head ashore to resupply whenever needed. We also have a nice supply of smallarms aboard for defense. All external doors lock so that offers defense from possible looters.
I'd probably head out to tangiers island in the bay. It's not too far, my people come from there and theres an endless supply of oyster and crab to eat as long as there was someone still alive there to show me how to oyster...i know how to crab. I believe I might have to take this place, once the island is locked down zombie free.

Well we just found out we may be relocating to Southern Oregon so perhaps it's time to start looking at building a small Wookie Village?

Or maybe an Ewok Village?

Or maybe...just something funky.

This discussion makes me sad, depressed, and in general, feel screwed. I'm not close to anything that has fort-like appearance.... or do I? QUICK! TO THE RESEARCH STATION!
Why so sad? A few sheets of plywood, some drywall screws and a power drill will make just about anyplace Zed proof in about an hour or so. Pre-cut your 1/2 to 3/4 inch plywood to cover all your windows and doors on the outside. Pre-drill all the mounting holes and make sure you have twice as many dry wall or deck screws than you think you will need. Now if you want to really make sure that no one will mess with your windows and doors covered with plywood...take a bunch of two inch drywall screws and from the inside just run the screws through the plywood from the inside to the outside creating a porcupine like anti-personnel barrier. Works against a pit bull so it should work against the undead.

You might even want to cut a few "peep holes" in the plywood...just large enough to check outside and to stick your gun barrel through to persuade uninvited visitors to go away.
actually considering normal humans with a little bit of time and no tools can break through ply-wood so thats not the best of ideas particularly considering zeds are relentless and really dont care about the pain from drywall screws
Louisiana National Guard Armory with my best friend. Load up, and kill everything we peceive as a threat.
