If a zombie apocalypse happened tomorrow, where would you go for safety, security, and protection. Would you flee the city for the country side? Would you try to make it to the nearest police station or military installation? Maybe find a mall or department store loaded with supplies and lock it down? Or do you have enough supplies and an easily defensible home you can ride out the apocalypse in?

I live in an apartment, in the city, no good. I would gather what I could, pack the car and go someplace nobody would think of. Road America, Elkhart Lake, Wi. Here's why, there's already gates around the entire 4 mile facility. There's a 3 story VIP tower. It's in the Kettle Morraine forest, I would have access to fuel, scrounging opportunity, additional clothing. Gate entrances have guard buildings. The forest provides food, cover, shelter. All the gated & fenced off areas create additional boundaries. With vast expanses of treeless area you could see far distances. Besides, who else is going to a racetrack for z-poc?
Good plan. If it is far enough out in the country there probably won't be a lot of zombies snooping around there. Good hunting oppertunities and plenty of fire wood. Probably plent of space to farm also. Although chain link might not be the best barrier. I'd probable dig trenches just on the other side of the fence it make it more difficult for them. Sounds like a good place to start a good sized, sustainable colony.

i am we have one just down the road + the amount of hunting rifles we have there are ....... well let just sat you can hold that place with about a dozen or so people and all have a rifle with enough ammo to last them all live fire all day every day for about 17 MONTHS + its surrounded with a 16ft hight and 8" think reinforced brick walls and only one entrance and they are agood 20ft cast iron gates so yer kinda a mini fortress lol

I think I could go for the woods across the highway from me. pretty dense yet not to far from the highway itself so some fellow survivors could keep good watch. plus with water at our backs we have a good escape route if we build a raft or grab a boat. :D
Not a bad idea. I'd probably try to set up for traps and/or barriers to stop or at least slow down the zombies if they find you. Good back up plan for an evac, grab a couple fo boats and keep them stocked with supplies for a quick get away.

why would you stay in the open? but if you do and your there for a while you will wanna bring down a couple of trees and dig a trench or two maybe a couple of death pits. (so allways have a axe close  by) but ace for the evac but if you have strap them boats together then you'll have a an better landing craft when ya need to head bak to dry land (works kinda like a building platform to frtify) .

.... I think I'd most likely go to the fells, towards the central lakes, but then again, I do have a cellar that zombies would find difficult to get into. Hell, even I find it difficult to get into there, and there are no stairs down to it, you have to lower yourself down onto a pile of sharp rubble. I might also go to the attic.... try and wait it out before going to the woods.... I don't know... oh, shoot, my glasses broke....

I'd more than likely hold up in the high school down the street from my house. I wouldn't stay on base, that would probably be a kill zone cause of the civvies we'd take in. The school is old, so big brick walls, 3 inch thick doors with shatter proof glass, bars on the windows, three floors with a roof. Plus it's right downtown and across from it is a grocery store. A few kilometers down the street is a gun store.

Seems like the best place close to me to hold up.

Lol bars on the school windows...rough neighborhood. Sounds like a very defensible location though. If you could get enought supplies ammo and firearms in there you could just thin out the herd which would make scaving a lo0t easier.

well i live in a small town so evac in dot too much of a problem but the town offers a gooa of building mterials but also short and long turn food and water, so i might just stay at my ZSi O.Z. so would be pritty much sorted so dig in a live on ;)
