Which tomahawk is better?

 

I know, we all have different views on all tomahawks. I was thinking about picking up one.

 

I have narrowed my choices to two different ones :

 

The Cold Steel Trench Hawk :

 

  • The design of the hawk is phenomenal, you have the spike on the which isn't just a spike, it's more of a spear point, kinda? And, the other half serves as a axe or whatever.
  • The Steel : Drop forged from 5150 carbon steel. That's a great steel.
  • It comes with a great hard shell sheath, that's not seen on many tomahawks

The Sog Fusion Tomahawk :

I am normally dead set against melee weaons because they fact that when it comes down to you having to use it, your probably a dead man aways. However, I really like the Cold Steal Trench Hawk for a couple reasons. Its made of good steel, and it doesn't have the wholes in it the SOG has. It think anytime you cut down on material your making it more subseptible to breakage. Cold steel has a great reputation for making great knives, and they tend to hold their blade really well. I recently bought a FGX Karambit and I love the quality of it. Really really fucking sharp careful boys and girls. Plus they sell replacement handles...obviously you wont be able to buy them when the shtf, but it might not be a bad idea to buy a extra one or two. If your traveling in a car, their light weight and dont take any room.

Honestly, I love all my Cold Steel Products. They are great quality and aren't wall hangers. I just can't settle on one of these hawks. I've heard great views from both. 

 

So that is :

 

CS Trench Hawk : 1

Sog Hawk : 0

since we had that discussion on what type of steel is better and we found Carbon to be better than Stainless. i am going with CS Trench Hawk. and a Polypropylene handle can outlast a fiberglass nylon cover up. i have to say im disappointed in SOG for this thing......
