hmmmm good question...
i would have to say child. other than natural morals, a lot of parents would naturally give there kids up if there was a way to keep them safe better, and it would be the more natural choice....of course thats depending on the child's age on how useful he/she is.......

If the husband or wife saved the other rather than the child, neither would want to be together. The child is their future.
I have neither a wife or child, but if I did I would like to say that I would save my child provided that he/she didn't need a machine or some rare drug to function.

Child would be my first choice, just becuase..
Second would be the Wife, for obvious reasons.

I would save anyone who I can save, either children or grown-ups !
As far as I'm concern, no one can be a fuckin' hero everyday !
But, anyway I love to save you for free, pink haired lady !

dude...this isnt a situational based question....but if you need a situation. bus is sealed off with a bunch of zeds inside getting up. your own body weight *your outside* is the only thing able to pull up one person at a time but you only have enough time to pull up one person from these three people and only you can decide which to bring up...there NOW will you answer the question?

Can't answer the question seriously because I would not ever be in that situation, not having children or ever intending to bring another person onto an already over-crowded planet.

I don't have a kid or significant other, so really can't say, if there's a kid there, not even so much my own, I'd probably try to save them though

I am not a parent. What I do know about biology says that the choice was made the day the child is born. The hope a child brings into the desolate world would probably help the darkest times. Being a parent means sacrifice.

According to my Animal Behavior class professor, men are biologically programmed to try to save their wife over the child because they can't know for sure if the child is theirs, and they can always make more (but they may save the child because they know their wife would kill them if they don't!)
Women are programmed to save the child over the husband because they have a lot more invested in them (it takes a lot of resources to carry a baby to term.)
I can't say for sure since I have neither.
