If zombies are attracted to non-environmental movement, then wouldn't zombies be drawn to each other? Is that why more zombies come when they find food?

Why don't zombies try to eat each other? Do humans smell different perhaps?

If 'runners' are alive humans with infected brains, why don't zombies attack them? Do they attack them but the runners fight them off?

I would like to know your opinions! I can't quite figure this out...

Maybe they can sense the virus in fellow zombies and runners.
How?

I'm open to the suggestion but I'm seeking a logical explaination.
scent
So you think that as a host is infected with the virus, the infected cells begin to emit and odor?

Perhaps a humans preference to remain clean and thus smell sweetly is the difference?
Simple as the smell.
Your theory is close to mine, i believe that the virus host emmits a hormone which is a marker, like bears and dogs piss on there terrotory, the zombies can sense this and will go about its buisiness.
Pretty good logic
or maybe it's the fact that they all smell like a bum's asshole
still a zombies sense of smell would be no stronger that our own i would say its a combination of sight and sound more than scent

Well thats not necessarily true... There are some conditions and viruses that can affect the senses making one or more of them stronger or even weaker which would then make another stronger in order to maintain balance, like how blind people develop a better sense of smell...  There is no limit to the theories really...  In the wild some animals will not approach dead flesh while others will only eat something if it's already dead...  This could be the same thing with ZEDs... with the runners, perhaps as is said in the main question, the zombies are no match for them.. a runner has no fear of infection... Fighting a zombie is easy but for humans it is the mere fact that a simple gash could spark their end that makes the fight that much more dangerous and scary... a runner would not have this....

Going back to the smell thing... it is very possible that the virus causes the body to secrete certain odors...

I think zombies run on basic instinct and if you look at any creature that lives like this they never turn on eachother.. They have their set kind of prey and thats what they go for... how does a snake know it's a snake?  Fuck knows but it does lol...  and it knows that that other snake is one of his own while that mouse is looking rather tasty LMAO...

Billy Conolly said it best... How does a wilderbeast know it's a wilderbeast, for there are no mirrors in the serengeti LMAO

Point is Zombies know they are zombies...  And they know what they wanna eat... I dare say that eventually they would turn on eachother when all other avenues were closed but then it's far more likely that mutations would take place quickly and within a couple years of the Zpoc there would be far more to deal with than just your walker

Its like why any species of animal (generally) doesn't feed on its own species. There are exceptions for sure, but for the most part, humans know that eating other humans is pointless. Well, a zombie may have the desire to feed on live humans because it wants to be live again or sustain its life somehow, so why would it feed on another dead person if it wanted to reclaim a bit of the living world?
Great questions. I've often wondered this myself.

I always figured it was because of the infection: they crave fresh meat. But then, why brains? Maybe because if they eat enough of them, they can eat themselves back to normal...

nah.
