If you were starving in the forest, hiding out from zombies and you stumbled upon a dead man...would you eat him?

Less people = more wild game. Ammo isn't a worry when hunting or trapping. You can use snares for smaller critters and bows to hunt animals as large as a deer. People don't understand that MREs, SPAM and canned food are emergency food. They are everday eating food when nothing else is available. Any prepper knows they need to grow their own food even if you have to do it in a green house or an indoor grow. Those hanging tomato planters were developed by a prepper no doubt.

Pioneers in the progression west in the USA did just what I'm talking about. They had to worry about unfriendlies, nature and disease. Some of them died and some of them lived. The better prepared lived and prospered.

It has been said time after time in this forum that the likelihood of a Zpoc isn't very high. Natural disasters and economic breakdown is much higher. In an economic breakdown cash will likely be worthless. People will rely on trade and barter. Someone with gold, silver, other shiny metals or jewels will be considered wealthy but will have to be able to hold on to what they have.

I think the people who will be the wealthy in an apocalyptic disaster will be those who can manufacture. There will be machine shops everywhere just waiting to start up. There are raw materials all over the place. The people who get that stuff up and rolling in safety will be "Boss". BARTERTOWN BABY!

True but the pioneers didn't have to deal with the walking dead and the level of disturbed people that are very plentyful these days.... plus i think the pioneers where made of a better stock than the people alive today they had to fight from birth... we are soft these days...
It is hard to argue the soft comment other then saying there are those who would do well. I wouldn't put it past the pioneers to think their problems were on the same level as zeds or our disturbed people. But they were brave people and persevered
Again I agree but I hate to kick a dead horse "no offence" most people today have have no perserverance. granted that will thin the heard but on the other hand the people that arnt trimmed away will become "well lets say very unpredictable" plus keep the (Donner Party) in mind...
I believe we agree. Many won't make it. Many aren't supposed to make it.
Now if i knew that man, and he died of natural causes, was not infected. I see it as i need too survive, ol' Johnny boy aint need his meat, he's dead, fresh and i'm hungry! Donner Party here i come!!
How dead?  I mean fresh dead, or laying around for a few days or weeks dead.
Never ever ever, I would never eat a man. And that's coming from a person who's tribe's name means "Man Eater".
I might consider eating a woman
To eat a man or not to eat a man. Here is the movie...http://clifflakemovie.com/ Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoy!
