Yeah I KNOW how it's spelled, now let's get on with the topic.

Should your long-range and short-range weapon defences fail you and you are grabbed from the front by a zombie, how do you hold it so it you won't get bit?

Describe the positions of your right and left hands, leg positions, and body movements.

Aww, but I can't afford a 300 dollar Tops Tom Brown Tracking knife. T_T

Yeah, it is risky. But what other choice would we have? Besides we need the leverage.
This should give you an idea of what can be done from your back.

It may not be perfect for dealing with a zombie but you can take the flesh eating part in to account when you're scrambling.

If you grab his neck your palm might be sweaty, his neck might be wet or something or slippery, it might get out of control. I'd try a full nelson and break his neck and if I couldn't find myself in that position just grab him by the hair and pull, preferbly from the back. I wouldn't worry about his hands, just watch his mounth.
Grab him by the hair, smash his head to a wall.

He's got you from the front. No full nelson. Most times the simplest solution is the best..
My bad.
What's a Full Nelson?
if it tackled me to the ground i would try to get my feet up to push on its chest n then level a pistola at its forehead...
Well I guess you interpreted it as "what if you have loaded weapons but it took you by surprise", which is fine too.

Push it with your feet? You mean Jujitsu style feet push? Explain how...

But the way it sounds the thing will either grab your leg and have a deadly advantage over you, or you won't be able to lift your leg since it will be weighing on you with it's full body weight.
