hey man, i am doing the same thing.. i went around with my own ideas and asked a lot of people for some ideas.. i dont know if this will help, but, i am making more of a journal rather than a book.. it will show more details, fear and it can be more raw, also, for the net and for the book to get published, i am making video and audio journal entry's. this way, for some of the chapters, people can actually see and or hear the hell we go through. the net will will have it automatically, but the book itself will come with a Windows capatable CD/DVD... it seems to be a good idea, lost of good comments on the idea.. hope this helps
ya I am doing mine as a narrative like I'm telling the story from my point of view as i went through everything but any ideas on length I mean i don't want to create a super long novel that no body wants to read but i also don't want to make it too short
you could write a trilogy , have each one at each stage of an over all infection , from the start to them taking over to people taking everything back or learning to survive with the zombies
I thought about doing a trilogy but I"m just going to do the the three stages Start the brink of destruction and then living with the infection, but I don't want to make it to long or to short
I am a novelist working on my third book an odessy about a close group of friends surviving the apocalypse though it's not actually a "zombie" story it runs along the same lines. It will be three parts each from a different survivor's point of view... but to answer your question i would say that 150-200 pages is appropriate for such a story given that the "zombie Story" demographic isn't known for being terribly patient, or for having especially long attention spans, myself included. I hope this was helpful.
