Today I picked up two books that for some people are the bibles to Zombies. World War Z and The Zombie Survival Guide. I haven't read either before. Maybe I'll get an education, maybe not. The Survival Guide was in the Humor section of Borders Books. I'm thinking of holding back on my blog story until I've read through part of the books.
I'm saving WWZ for last. Brooks has a good take on a lot of stuff it would appear. I believe he's misread the AR15 system though. It's sturdier then he gives credit.

yeah Brooks talks like if you just touch a AR-15 it'll fall apart. Now in the 60s' it was't that good of a weapon thats true but now it has developed into a pretty sturdy weapon.
Take care of your tools, and your tool's will take care of you. The AR weapon system is efficient, accurate and I trust my life with my M4. Keeping your weapon clean and Preventative Maintenance, nuff said.
WWz i amazing, it's so real, i havn't slept since i started friday. Im scared that i won't wake up or if i do that knocking outside is gonna try to get me.

I know I'm going to take a beating for this, but here goes....I have never liked Max Brooks, I think his books are boring and too main stream, maybe even a little too fan boy....ok, I'm ready to get beat up now
In WWZ he comes off as being kind of totalitarian. I would have taken all his characters in WWZ to be all Soviets or ex-Soviets. I don't think he realizes how difficult ti would be to re-establish any kind of rule of law. Hey it's his story though. I guess he can write it the way he likes.
ZSG was ok. I don't agree with everything, specifically his prefered mode of travel and some weapons. It was an okay read though.
