Seriously guys, protection and zombieproof gear is for pansies. The only thing that's going to keep you safe is looking as sharp as possible. How will you dress to kill during zpoc? Nearly every zombie film has some badass in a slick costume at some point or other. I don't want to hear about your fancy 'chainmail' or 'flak jacket' rubbish, will you go for the ninja style? Biker? Will you go for the mysterious cloaked stranger effect or the obvious warrior? Get inventive here.

Edit: C'mon lads, you're doing it wrong. You're being, dare i say, practical..? I want interesting, not sensible.

Probably just go totally Tribal Road Warrior, using what layering materials I could get my hands on that will protect me from bites, allow freedom of movement and getting out of trouble faster than I got into it. Like my walking stick...a nice sharp Naginata?
I'd rockin it with some black goggles a tan bandana facemask (like the kind used in the army for desert) then a tan under armor short sleeve over that'll be some green fatigues then a badass leather belt holding up some cargo pants and finally some jungle boots so I'ma go with comfortable style
cool
Mad max , or like I am Legend , Borderlands like...

My sniper, Katana, Revolver , Multi use Knife......end
Honestly, id go fairly light but all tactical. something military. so probably more so the navy seals land bdu or rangers. but i would make specific style pockets for carrying knives and swords and keep mayby one or to guns on me, say a ruger .38 SP or a .45 for a pistol and a 6.5 x 55 swedish mauser for emergency only. once the necessity comes, i might keep a different set of attire, say a police tactics uniform since it would probably be lighter than the military attire, less protected but more manuverable.
if i wanted to be the movie style bad ass, i would wear my TBDM shirt, some black cargo pants, my SKIN hat and i would weild the sword that sephiroth hase, the masamune.. and the theme music to which is oddly there from nowhere would be nailgun massacre by burning the masses.
they say a picture is worth a thousand words, keeping that in mind i think ill just post pictures of the setup ill be using, if anyone would like to share their opinions on it, feel free

from top to bottom, thats Tactical Tiger Stripe Camo, Blackhawk Combat Boots, Tac Vest, Dump Bag Leg Platform, Utility Leg Platform, Eye Pro, and some really cool gloves called 6 o'clock gloves (they have mirrors on them so you can see behind you when your weapons drawn.) The only thing i didnt bother to put up is the Knee and Elbow Pads. I may post pictures of my complete carry if i can A.) manage to get a damn camera, or B.) get around to finding pictures of it on the internet...
practical but although un comfortable and heavy.
actually most of that stuff is pretty comfortable its made for guys who wear it for days at a time so they want it to be like you don't even notice it and cammies are like the most comfortable thing in the world at least to me anyways
exactly, compared to what i wore in the army, thats swimming gear lol hell my IBA (Infantrymans Body Armor) alone weighed more than that stuff combined, (roughly.)
yeah i said that because most of the equipment isnt practical at all
