I think, being realistic, the government would either have to call them Zombies (because it is a widely accepted term that people will understand) or Infected.

They'll call it a type of rabies. They will want people to think of it as a disease or illness, and think of it in scientific terms. This will reduce some of the horror in people, allowing them to function better.

extremely challenged and hungry people prolly.. so zombies wouldn't be offended. i don't believe in huge conspiracies that much. small ones sure, but really big ones? most gov's are usually filled with retards.. saying a government is able to convince their civies that the outbreak isn't really happening is like saying that a slow retarded kid is being able to convince the entire school that his tricycle is in fact a helicopter. they just can't pull it off.

well the gov would probly call them some stupid ass crap like illness or some thing like that,but i mean come on just about everyone has seen and zombie movies and knows what a zombie is,so it would be a big help if the gov just called them zombies.people would allready know what one is and what to do
