These sugestions are my personal opinions and they vary from person to person.

Its always important to be prepared a zombie outbreak and if you want to survive, then you will need the best tools for the job. But what are they?

This is a list of weapons I would use for survival.

           Fire Arms                      Melee

           bolt-action rifle              crowbar

           9mm pistol                    frying pan (iron)

           AR 15                          small sledge hammer

           Ak-47

It is preferd if all fire arms are equipped with silencers if zombies depend on sound to locate its prey.It is also recommended that all fire arms should remain on semi-auto. In a zombie outbreak accuracy is critical to survival, something that is lacked by full-auto rambos.

The AR-15 is highly recommended but is very expensive. If money is tight then the Ak would be a saticfying alternative.NO SHOTGUNS!!! Shotguns are by far the worst possible choice, pump or auto. It requiers the user to be up close to the undead assailant for an acurate shot. But if there is nothing else than use it.

why is ever one crazy for crow bars? i know you could use as weapon and a tool but couldnt you do that with an axe? if the chioce id take the axe but id have a big a and small melee weapon my small one might be an ice pick
The Zombie Survival Guide told people they were good, they are just blindly obeying
ok well how can you blindly obey someone that hasnt even incounterd one first hand. its a matter of opiion
to be honest i rather have a sword and be up close and personal and kill the mother fuckers my self so i can make sure they are FULLY dead. i do agree with not useing a shot gun but still when it happens we'll just have to wait and see what actully works
Someone with a knife can kill you very similar to how a zed would. If you knew you were fighting someone with a knife you wouldn't want a gun?
I agree with the two pound hammer. Also I guess you could carry a lighter sledge, but why not just use a normal hammer?
I travel with a few choice weapons.
Firearms: Melee:
Kalashnikov Rifle-semi auto Sharpened Sword
357/38 magnum Knife

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE AR-15! It is too clumsy and hard to clean. A sledge is is too heavy and off balance. A frying pan is useless. A crowbar is also useless. Blunt trauma will not kill a zombie. I am an EMT so I know about the medical aspect of survival. I also have extensive experience with firearms and melee weapons.
Nothing clumsy about the AR. I can meet you halfway on the hard to clean bit, but clumsy it is not. With a little training even a cheap AR is a fine weapon.

@Nuke- I just want to point out: you firearm allotment alone weighs close to 50 pounds.

As for the crowbar, I have but one simple request. Grab one, take it outside, and hit something hard with it, and hit it hard. It you immediately drop it and start cursing, forgo using it as a weapon. If you don't, then either A- it was padded or B- I want to get your dealer's number, 'cause he's got some good shit.
Unless you break the skull and mush the brain it is useless. I am looking for a guaranteed kill every time.
Not necessarily the case. You only need to destroy certain parts. A deep, penetrating blow (no innuendo intended) to the top of the head can usually take out the parts responsible for motor functions. A blow through the base of the skull at the back can take out the brain stem. Either one will "kill" the zombie without having to scramble the whole brain. Coincidentally enough, those are also the areas you want to aim for.
The .223 will easily penetrate the skull. Once inside the brain will look like mush from the round tumbling. Was it your idea that it wouldn't and where'd you get that at?
They are perfect when they are 55 grains or bigger with a mountain of powder behind them...
