Hi everyone, I'm currently developing an iPhone app (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rjbudke/zombie-defense-iphone-app) that will help the unprepared general population when the zombpocalypse finally hits. I'd like to ask you what features you'd like to see in it. Currently we're going to have maps of areas that they should avoid, places where supplies, weapons, medical supplies and others might be, and how to distinguish the different types of zombies.
What else should we include? What features are we missing that will help the human race survive? We are the prepared, we are the future.
Not a bad idea in theory but how long do you think cellular service will actually last? I think that that infection will spread to fast for anything like to do much good past the first couple of days.
While I 100% agree that they will go down, and relatively quickly, I have to play devil's advocate and argue for the app still (doesn't hurt that, ya know, it's my app either :D ).
1. The cell grid won't go down immediately. There will probably be some some time period with it still up.
2. With Apps set up the way they are now on the iPhone, they no longer need the internet. Sure, they're going to lose some updating and interactive features in the app, but as long as they have power, they should have access to whatever we can cram into that app. Just another argument in favor of making this as thorough as possible.
3. Finally, this should be a learning tool more than anything else. This should be for those who want to be prepared, and who are actively readying themselves now for the zombpocalypse. If they're depending on this app as their only means of survival post-Z-Day, I hope we can help, but it's probably too late.
Well I do think its a good idea and I am interested to see it, but I do not think service will last long, a few weeks at most, but it would be helpful then.
But it should also be noted that with the new iphones at&t can't even support the entire capability of the phone, so reliance on technology should be minimum. But I am looking forward to seeing the app.
i don't think we will come to a grinding halt as far as cell phone service or electricity goes. worst case scenario, a few days. just sayin'... i like the idea of it. now, i am a sucker for apps for my ipod touch... are you saying just phones or ipod touch too... since it can grab wifi...
