So this week I saw two movies that were close in plot. Pontypool and Dead Air, I don't know if Dead Air is trying to copy the other but they are very similar in plots. But the main reason for me to bring this up is to see if anyone else has seen Pontypool and what they thought about that virus. Its an interesting concept as the virus is spread through spoken words, people hear these words and start freaking out, bleeding from there mouths and if they dont find someone to eat they start spewing blood till they die. It doesn't show any spreading through bites only words. Just wondering what others think of this concept of infection.

Both were good movies, of the two it's hard to pick which I liked best but I think Pontypool just wins on account of the verbally spread virus. It's an interesting concept and one which has an interesting underlying meaning of virus spread by speaking/ an idea spread by speaking. The idea is a virus which can destroy the system.Like many zombie stories including my own there is often an underlying political message. I give them 10 points for creativity
As a true method of infection, I doubt it could work unless perhaps a series of sounds awoke an already present but dormant virus, much like some insects are motivated to breed by thunder storms.
