Permalink Reply by the death of saint.357 on May 23, 2012 at 12:46pm dude why wouldn't you have those things prepared now, food and water are easy to stock if you just buy a little extra every time you go the store. i'll admit my supply's are not yet ad-acquit but I'm saving up little by little and every ounce of water and can of food i have is one step above the guy like you who doesn't have anything. learning to fly and other survival preparedness can and must be learned now how many certified teaching pilots do you thing will still be around after the dead start to feed on the living. fortune favors the prepared my friend and i feel sorry of you. don't worry though if i come across you half eaten zombie ill blow your head off to put you out of your misery. real though dude get started now, you don't want to wait until its to late.
Permalink Reply by spwnzr on July 10, 2012 at 6:22pm i have tried water stocking and i just get polluted water. i am also trying to save up food collection but ust like many others the economy is slapping me around like a person who gets slapped around and likes it(tried to avoid prejudice).
Permalink Reply by the death of saint.357 on July 10, 2012 at 6:46pm what are you using for containers, old two litter or three litter soda bottles work great, and are free if you normally drink soda.you have to rotate them every 6 to 12 months unless you use a water preserver. and you gotta keep them in a cool dry place away from sun light a closet works good, like my set up.
i gotta about 41 gallons in the closet with plenty more room to go. if this isn't right for you then try a water bob.
for the low price of 20 bucks you can have 100 gallons of emergency drinking water when you need it. of course the flaw of it is you need running water for it, so you have to fill it up before or just after a disaster and hope your water hasn't been disrupted or contaminated.
as for food that's easy every time you go to the store buy a little bit extra of the things you already eat, canned and dried goods of course. and set them aside. after a few trips you'll see your food storage start to grow. you don't need to run off and buy a years worth of rice and beans right now. 10 bucks a shopping trip set aside and you'll be good. taking advantage of sales is also a good way to do it. true if the zpoc happens a few weeks after you start this you wont have a ton of food but everything you have put aside puts you one step above all those people who haven't done anything. and you can always rotate it into your normal pantry when things are a little lite. or when the exasperation date approaches so its not like you just gonna leave it there to gather dust forever. its an investment, aren't you and your family worth 10 dollars a week?!

Permalink Reply by spwnzr on September 22, 2012 at 8:06am yes I use soda containers but my basement is just an iddy bitty bit damp but we take precautions against mold the problem is that the bottles are from like 3 or 4 years ago and because of responsibillities it's hard to remember to change the stuff up every six months. but my girl friend (family is a death sentence) and any one I value and care for is worth that much money thanks for the advice.
Permalink Reply by the death of saint.357 on September 22, 2012 at 10:16pm your welcome man and i can understand the problems of the economy its hit us all. if rotating your water is to much of a pain for ten bucks you can get these little bottle of water saver stuff. it treats up to 55 gallons a bottle and can makes you water storage last five years with out having to change it. you should look into it. water changing a bitch especially when you have a lot put away. good luck yo you friend and as always
