As the New World Order, the few who survive the common zombie outbreaks, we should work together and agree on the best way to survive the zombies, that way when Judgment Time comes, we will know just how to wage war succesfully! First, we should think about the best weaponry arsenal to use. This excludes the common guns. Everyone will use them, but can include the most crazy things, from 16 wheelers to chairs! What do you think?

Best weapons would be a crowbar because of its portability and its usefulness as more than a weapon. My first choice would be my machete though, blades don't run out of bullets but don't go for anything serrated because it could get caught in the bone.

Best way to survive would be of course to start out in small groups and meet in a central place, get together and get organized to make a stand. I think that and island would be a good place, we could grow food and guard the waters fairly easily. The only problem would be collecting water. Another good large place to defend would be a prison, they have riot weapons, food, surveillance, multiple gates, generators... nearly everything we would need.

Traveling to whatever central place we choose will be tricky, the best idea I think would be to travel light and in small groups. I don't know if traveling by night would give people much of an advantage depending on what the characteristics of the zombies are.

The very initial outbreaks are part being in the right place at the right time part the way that people keep their cool and part preparation. Have a plan of what to do for the first month when you could very well be on your own. Keep your pantry stocked with canned foods, have a crowbar or a baseball bat in your house, just small things that can make a difference between you and those poor SOBs that are trying to rip your throat out. When you get news of an outbreak first thing to do if you are home is to turn on your bathtub and all of your sinks to collect as much water as possible while you can. If you aren't at home I suggest you get there as soon as you can if you are able, if not find a good looking place to lay low for a while. My house has wooden stairs so if a confirmed outbreak was seen in my town I would get as many survival items as soon as possible upstairs and begin destroying the stairs. Not burning because that is a great way to kill your self while burning your shelter down. It wouldn't be an easy task I know but if I had a ladder between me and the bloodthirsty freaks down below I would feel much safer.
as much as I'd like to say good job it seems that you've copied 3/5 of your statement from "the zombie survival guide" which in many readers eyes is full of miss information and would easly get many people killed.
Nice thinking! I'd go with a trusty baseball bat or like you said a crowbar, also a couple grenades or a few molotov cocktails. Like you said, travel light, but it's good to have backup. The best shelter would definetely be a prison (as you said- again!) or a mall security room, like in Dead Rising, someone could go through the air shaft and get more supplies then climb back through. I think that in just a situation of a zombie outbreak you should join a real zombie survival group in your town, then you can contact each other when someone in the group finds a good secure area to meet up and kill off zombies easier.
looks like u guys thought of almost every thing except for the best fire arm to carry in my opinion do not use a shotgun or pistol shotguns r powerful yes this is true but the average of bullets u can have in that gun is 8 kill 8 zombies then relode reloding takes a fucking hour under stress and pistols r easy to carry around but small clips. just get an SMG and switch it to semi auto thats a 35 bullet handgun on average and easy to carry around !
finding a safe place to live is tricky yes and prison is a great idea i wouldve never thought of that 1 the stairs part is wut i always thought of doing i was thinking of an attic if u have one because thers lots of space no way they can get up and if u stock up on can goods and water a little bit at a time that will start to pile up but wut i always thought of is wut happens when u get old or out of shape waiting to get rescued and help never comes?wut do u do. wut can u do!?
please reply back to my qusetion i need to know
Are you saying that you are trapped in your attic? Oh and remember I excluded guns in this.
If you're stuck upstairs, then why don't you keep active up there, you can do sit ups, push ups, run around in circles you don't necessariy need to get out of shape because you're in your attic.
Best thing to do is probably just exercise and keep in shape. The zombies will eventually go away and you can go down to get more supplies.
y exclude guns its the best way to not risk infection on anybody especially ureself
im just sayin if ure at ure house and surrounded by them the attic is just 1 option
Crimson Tear, you obviously have read The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks because you obviously just restated everything in it without giving credit to the Author. Doctor Spud you need to read The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks. Going to a mall security room would not be a wise choice because of the amount of people that will think excatly like you and go to the mall. Infection gets in and your basically trapped. No place is safe just safer. Terrence Garcia you exclude guns because unless you have training that 35 round handgun you have there will possibly kill 6-7 zombies even of Semi-Auto. Besides like Crimson and Spud were saying its better to use hand-held weopons for two reasons 1. You dont have to reload them. 2. You can use them for other things instead of killing.
I agree with Mike. Oh and if you were to move from one location to another and it has some distance, the best way or transportation is something that you use your body to make it go forward, like a bike. I'm saying that because if you have a car, it can't go between obstacles very easily, and it makes noise, it also has Gasoline which can run out. A good gas powered vehicle to use (that is if you have enough gas to last you for a long time) Is and armored truck, because the z's can't get in through the bullet proof glass or the thick steel, and it can ram through almost anything. I give credit to Max Brooks....his Zombie Survival Guide really helped me.
Thank You Catalyst, Seems well be the only ones left because were actually staying in shape which is one thing i failed to mention in my first response. Definately a bike/ running/ hell even a razor scooter might give you something but watch out for rocks in front of the wheels we know how hazardous the damn razor scooter can be almost as bad as Zeds. I agree and disagree with the Armored truck though mainly because it runs on diesal and its a fossil fuel and it will be useless once gas runs out. I agree because of its safety maybe use it as a storage container somewhere close to your camp or one night camp out. What about a Horse? I know it needs training but should we be getting ready now anyway. I know its expensive but theres certain horses that are mainly just for work duties. And a couple of You say go to a prison, yes a Prison is a very safe place but you have to remember that its a PRISON! There's convicts ranging in more crimes then know to man so do you really want to deal with that? Max Brooks suggests that you scout out land in the Mid-Western states see if theres a natural stream and natural boundaries like a possible platuea of sorts surrounded by mountains or water or very thick forest. But there in lines more problems. Make sure you have an escape route no one knows about. Try to take classes on keeping morale high because Suicide will be the next most likely cause of death of remaining survivors that and the Bands of "Rogues" roaming around whats left killing people and Zed alike. If you can keep your sanctuary hidden and well-supplied and or well-armed. Those Bands will kill themselves out or get eaten by Zeds.
If you'll notice I said that if you have plenty of gas to get where you're going, then the armored truck would be ideal to travel in. The reason I didn't say horses is that if you get surrounded by zombies, the horse could get infected, and then you'd be screwed. Non-living ways of transportation would be ideal because they cannot get infected. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want an undead horse going after me. Besides, if you remember from the zombie guide, horses and other animals freak out when they sense undead around, and they can desert you.
