Communism will definatly work as long as their continued to be a zombie threat. Communism is a perpetual war production society. As long as they have a goal then the people will work towards that goal to the best of their efforts. But once the threat is gone, which is highly unlikely, then the governments would have to create a new threat in order to continue their society. Such as the Czarists with Lenin, the Nazis with Stalin, the Cold War with Kruschev to Yeltsin. Once they found a peace, Communism fell.

What would happen if a nuclear war destroyed all the world governments, or aliens invaded, or 1337-speaking lifeless 'n00bslayers' took over? Exactly.
Same thing with zombies.

I belive that the zombies will come in a certain phase system, similar to the first suggested course that the world will take. Here's the system now...

PHASE ONE - The Invasion (Passed)
The zombie menace will sweep from an unknown source, killing a wave of destruction, not realized for what they are in larger cities, making it impossible for the small bands of Z-Hunters (Zombie Hunters) to take them out. This will lead to:

PHASE TWO - The Zombies Rule (In Passing)
Except for a few bands of survivors, Zombies have become the primary species on Earth. There will be absolute chaos for about 5-12 years, as the Zombies die off of rot and the natural death of their contamination. In this time, Nature will reset itself, making cities collapse in on themselves, as well as create much needed natural resources.

PHASE THREE - The Re-emergance of Mankind
After PHASE TWO, the zombies will have mostly died off, except for a small few here and there, as well as some in colder reigons, where they've frozen. In this time, the bands of civillians will begin to retake command over the Zombies, gaining cities in the process. The inevitible next phase will come of this;

PHASE FOUR - Anarchy
Due to the now-primal nature of the Human race from living independant of any rules or laws will almost positively lead to the Anarchaic survival phase, where Humans will turn on themselves in a conquest for power over their fellow man. In this time, it is a very real possibility that a frozen zombie may take down the population of the chaotic society, which could, in theory, end the existance of Mankind. Assuming survival is achieved, the next phase will occur:

PHASE FIVE - Established Goverment
The final phase of a Zombie invasion, this is when Humankind has taken back Earth from zombies enough to establish their command in a permenant role in Nature once more. Most likely, it will be a Monarchy or like government at first, but may turn into a Democracy. Survivors will need to watch for zombies for generations to come, watching for frozen zombies to wash upon shores around the globe.

My personal belief in PHASE FIVE will be that it would be a caste system, almost exactly like one established in Babylon 5. There will be the Working class, the Warrior class, the Command class, and the Religious class, but they will be equal, except for the Command class, which will be made of the leaders of each of the other three classes. That's my opinion, anyway.
