Whats your pick for a Primary weapon for both Defense and Offense? Must be longer then a AK-47.

Well I have to go with the M-4,and the Ak-47,because ammo for both guns is readily at any gun store world wide, and the AK has great stopping power, the M-4 is a lil shorter then the Ak for CQB.
30/30 Bolt action with an elevated scope the elevated scope allows me to still see my iron sights you see
Upside to your 30/30 is stopping power, downside is distance. The operational distance on a 30/30 round is only about 350-450 yards depending on conditions. Their such a large heavy round that they fall off quick.
I wholeheartedly agree.  I have a Marlin 30/30.  I know from personal experience that it can put a bullet Through a house (and so can a 45 pistol.  What a fun day!).  One shot one kill is important in any self-defense situation when your life is in danger and when it comes to zombies, that one shot really does count.
My first choise would be an M-14, with a 3-9x40 scope. This combines quick reloads by mag over most boltactions and leverguns with a high rate of accurate fire to take down the approaching hoard. Also, being .308Win calibre ammo is available all over Australia.
Mosin Nagant M91/30. Built tough, reliable and a caveman could even find out how to maintain it. Now being a bolt action and single stacked 5 shots isnt that much, but being at a long distance and only 1 shot per kill,it compensates for it. Its about 8lbs or so and close to 5ft long, so its kind of a burden to maneuver with but all in all its a very accurate.

or my Savage M89 LR...
It can shoot at a rapid rate with 10 shots, now it's .22 and they can be underpowered but also underestimated. When i go out shooting, i shoot this rifle for pure fun, fun because you can paint a target and most deff hit it all 10 times. Accurate as hell, light, and easy to use. It is a semi auto action and LR by length
G3 SG1 which is chambered in 7.62x51mm
M14A1 fully automatic assault rifle has always proved itself a very helpful little bugger in most situations. Especially with its ability to spray shot, single shot, and full auto which as always is a gigantic help
It is a very nice little toy, but it serves as a close quarter combat weapon, at long range it is rendered useless. In lamest terms, not something you would want to use as a sniper rifle, no offense.
True shit

M14, I think you gents mean M4, because I know you didn't just say an m14 sucks at long range, they use them as sniper rifles,

Yeah, you can drop 10 men with the spray and pray method but zombies won't even flinch.  You gotta hit 'em in the head!
