Permalink Reply by James McDonald on January 3, 2011 at 9:01pm Sako TRG 42 is my choice for long range sniping. It fires the .338(8.6x70mm) lapua rounds, which have excellent operational range, and dont weight you down like carring .50BMG round. It does sorta fall out of my thinking about carrying rounds. I try stick with fire arms that fire the same rounds, but Ive found that because of what I want to be able to do I will be carrying at least 4 different rounds.

It's true that I have had some difficulty with the large plastic magazines for my Classic Green. They are expensive, hard to find, and when double-stacked (which is a great feature of these magazines) they don't fit in North American sized double-stack mag pouches.
On the other hand, I can always get a laugh out of my friends when I stack all six of the mags I own, load em' up and shoot with a wall of mags sticking out the side of my gun. It's not practical, and definitely not easy, but it is entertaining to watch.
Has anyone here had a chance to try out Hornadys' new Z-max bullets? I'm quite interested in how they perform, but they are a little hard to come by in my home and native land.
