ALL i found was ur posts on LZ, i play Cod, but i also enjoy collecting guns and going shooting with freinds, im not the best marksman but i dont have to be, theres NO point. if a SHTF(not talking about a zday or anything im talking about actrall WROL no law or anything) situation ever happens being the best marksman doesnt mean crap, if u are as good as u say u are, u should of been on the top shots show on the history channel, AND the AK never used that type of ammunition, and if u can get me a link, i would gladdly take back what i said but i found nothing about it so....

i understand about thoose little kids, its so funny, have u seen the adults who play it and say the same things?XD personally i would like to own an AR15, but i wouldnt use it in a SHTF situation, simply cause of the reliabilty, and the fact that its cheeper to stock pile 7.62x39 ammo then it is stock piling the 5.56 or the .223.
sorry for coming off as a smartass/asshole last night, what system you play on?

ak-47 obvioosly, it never fails. the m16 is useless if the tinyest bit of dirt gets inside it

actally the AK can fail, my friend has a M70 Yugo, and he maked fun of me for getting an WASR 10/63(because if u know it, WASR's are suposed to be the lowest quality, and the yugo is a few steps above it), and when we went shooting, his yugo jamed like a mofo, it only would cycles a few rounds and then would stovepipe or just not cycle.

I have never fired either. But, I my opinion the M16 is the rifle of a trained disciplined marskman. The smaller ammo is lighter but has less power. M16 is more accurate, but is higher maintanance. The AK47 is more the insurgents rifle. People with little or just some training. Spray and pray knowing that even if you target is not in view, you might penetrate right through his cover.

Quick Question on Ammo. These are full metal jackets. They do not deform much on impact. I am worried about over penetration and the round going straight through with out depleting all of its energy in the Ghoul for maximum knowck down. Is the M16 round small enough that it will tumble in the body and not pass through?

If not, a friend of mine's brother was in 'nam. (I am 43YO) It messed with his head. He became more comfortable in the bush than back in civilization. After several tours he rotated out and became a Merc in Africa. I think it was the Congo. Not sure. But, he would tell stories about using a file to remove the (copper?) exposing the lead. Any truth to this?

i would just like to comment on the fact of silencing an ar-15. its not as easy as just removing your flash guard and screwing on a silencer at. first you must aquire or load your own subsonic rounds. most common hand guns the 9mm .40 and .45 are already subsonic rounds but yes not to accurate. to load a .223 or nato 5.56 you must litterally drop the projectiles speed from about 3450 fps to almost 2200fps. alot of people commonly replace the projectile with a larger on which will set farther down in the shell to reduce the "gap" between the powder to the projectile lessening the chance of catastrophic failure to the round. but of course heavier round less powder equal less distance fair trade so the subsonic round does not explode in the chamber. yet when you become capable of reloading and have obtained a silencer an AR-15 is quite an amazing weapon. i suggest a dillon xl 650 reloader for the fact it will reaload centerfire .308 9mm .40 .45 and small riffle rounds such as the .223 and you can reload up to 400 rounds an hour. it will not reload 7.62X39 shells used in a kalashnikov a.k.a. the AK-47

im not gonna be one of thm 10 year olds they were talking about but i have read from semi reliable sources that the ak is close to the best weopon to have during the zpac it can be semi auto and has wide barrel for almost no jamming wether this is true or not i would prefer a well cared for  hunting rifle then a millitary m5 or 50 cal. i wood rathe just be faster and quieter with a sword or great crowbar know what i mean????

I would go with the AR15. I would definitely go with one that uses gas piston, instead of gas impingment. Gas piston runs cooler, is a lot more reliable, and cleaner. I was never a AR fan until I ran across LWRC. I was recommended to check them out, and l found a guy at my local range who owns one. I fired at the range, and fell in love with the way it works. I bought one for myself and took it out to a friends ranch and put it through the same torture test I ran my ak through it came out performing just as reliable as my ak. It does have the advantage of accuracy, and distance.

 

I also believe that ammo is going to be more available during a zombie apocolypse. On top of that one thing a lot of people dont think about is what happens when your weapons system fails. Parts for the AR will definitely be easier to come by on the road than parts for ak's.
