Ok, not sure where to ask this. So, I will start here and can bounce elsewhere if someone has a better idea.

This is going to sound really stupid, but has a real impact on how people react. I am reading a zombie book. I am not going to quote and only paraphrase and keep the book unlisted.

Boy and girl are in a public space
Couple sees man mouth agape and dragging one leg with bad balance
Couple watches as man gets hit at 30MPH+ by a pickup truck
Man gets up and walks towards them even though he is majorly ephed up.
A passer by runs to help the broken man.
Broken man rips good samaratin's throat out with teeth.
Broken man walks towards the couple
Good samaratin gets up to join the party.
Couple tries to tell these two bozos that they do not want any trouble and please do not hurt us
Bozos keep coming
Couple runs around the building
Couple sees a man dressed like the 1940s with most of his face gone revealing most of the skull
Couple runs faster

Now the punch line

Couple (and the radio / TV) all say WTF! Whats going on?
one person as a moment of lucidity and says zombies, but is shouted down.

So, in this reality, how much of a clue do the inhabitants have? Were there known zombie attacks? Are there zobie films? Is Max Brooks published? We do not have to accept everything that Brooks writes as canon. We can change things. It would even be good plot if we reference his work, but have people surprised that it is not perfect.

I guess to sum it up. Do the people in the horror movie know they are in a horror movie? Hell, this is a documentary and they will even see people filming them, lol

correct me if im wrong and feel free to point this out if its already been brought up, but has anyone considerd the point of "special" or rare types of zombie (besides the runners) that may posses special skills or enhanced abilitys?

Good to know. Live reanimants can be killed like normal human beings then, or must the brain be destroyed as well?

@Mr. Fawkes Some are, some aren't. The slower ones ARE, in fact, dead. If you see someone running towards you, they are either clean or infected but not dead.

I just joined, so someone tell me if this question has already been brought up.

Are the Campion-infected truly "dead"? Or are they just sick? Are they in a state of reanimation? Do they decay? This is very important.
