first have a plan and know how to get to where you are going , if you hesitate you are dead.

first i think if you are gonna be on the move you should be in a well disciplined group. everyone needs to move and work as one. since there will be a need for silence i suggest using signals for close up and flags for if your a distance away. you can always say walkie talkies of some sort but i implore the least amount of noise as possible. there needs to be scouts ahead and behind the group to guard against hordes as well as evil minded people. and never have your group all together in one place. i suggest a few snipers out and about keeping a close eye on the group in case of ambushes. this will take alot of teamwork and understanding of each other. always sleep in shifts and have at least 2-3 people on watch duty to keep each other awake or what not. be alert always! listen to your surroundings and never let your guard down. i also suggest for these kind of journeys not bringing any animals unless it's absolutely imperative and even then they should be greatly trained against barking or growling.

Hey you know what?There should be a group of people on here who go and investigate zombie outbreaks.Of course with weapons.Who agrees with me??

p.s. if any one needs shelter in a zombie infestation come to falls city,NE im armed with 2 rpgs and a beretta 50 cal. sniper rifle

(and for all you smart asses out their no thats not all the weapons i have.)

that shows cuz if he had the 50 CAL he would know it's not Barretta but Barrett, as in Barrett "light-fifty" M82A1

you can get ear pieces with in line mics for just about any walkie and they work great we use them so people standing right next to us can't hear what we are saying to each other .

Convoy. Here's the basic Idea.

Take MAC Tracker-Trailors. On the Trailor lower the center of gravity. The you can out fit the inside for what ever you need. I think groups of 4 would be the best.

1 Tactical: All fighting persons and some equipment
1 Civilian: All non-fighting persons
2 Suppily: Food and equipment etc.

I wont say more now, what are your guy's thoughts?

my only worries would be the noise factor and gas. mac trucks are pretty loud and will have every zombie in the vicinity at your location. and gas may be pretty hard to come by.

And I hunt. Sounds not a huge problem. With this set up your ready to fight.

i don't understand what you mean by, you hunt. sounds not a huge problem. yeah with that setup your ready to fight, but if over half the population is now undead then you are looking at the possibility of hundreds even thousands of zombies at your location, what then?

I like to work in small hunting Parties. They way it works is kill a little, move a little. Kill a little, move a little. Fight on your terms, not theirs.

So it's not the best idea in the world, but it works out in the desert.

sorry to intrude but i beleive that you should stockpile weapons and when you run out of food,try arranging to meet someone not expecting you to arrive and do what i would......go on a killing rampge until you make it or die
p.s by die i mean kill yourself, dont let them get you.
