well i believe it is safe to say that the zeds would act like any animal would. they would go where the food is by using all means. now i think a better question to ask is what are they able to sence with?

thats a good question. They must have a sixth sense of sorts... but even then its highly unlikely that they can sense with the normal 5 senses... thats another we will need an answer to.

another possibility is the random wanderer idea popularized by Max Brooks. a zombie will wander aimlessly in random directions for random amounts of time before going somewhere else and could find food by chance. once they sense pray (see, hear or other) they start moving in that direction until they lose it or something makes them loose interest.
this idea is part of what lead me to post a similar but more specific topic on the general page

yeah but since they still use their brain seeing as how its one of the only ways to kill them. i mean they cant be all that dumb right runners would actually be smarter than normal ones seeing as how their brains havent really started to decay yet. but it would probably be like just a mindless horde running at you for normal stenches. and the runners would actually still have some hummanity left in them and be more like a pack of wolves in comparisn to the regulars and in big citys the horde would just be a giant cluster fuck of corpses well woods and country zombies would havea harder time to attack and would but prarie and desert zombies would have no real chance and survivor jerky
