“Blades don’t need reloading.”-Max Brooks

When you think of fighting zombies, you think of shotguns or pistols, not swords. But some of us prefer the advantages of the melee weapon better than the gun. We'd rather fight with our combat skills than pointing and shooting. And we'd rather not waste time searching for ammo.

What I suggest is the best thing on for everyone to do on here is go out and find people to duel against, just practising moves on your own is no good then you have to fight living opponents. Will also help with not just infected but if you meet an aggressive survivor who also has a melee weapon that you need to beat. Trust me, it’s the best preparation you can have.

Think about it ok a gun is good for clearing a few down blah blah blah but a sword you can hit them away and hurt while defending.A crowbar would be good you can stab you can bash and you can open stuff with it

A nice solid double sided battle axe in each hand means that I've got an offence and defence. Thats the plan that seems to be working

Guns are for the weak and scared. Blades are for the strong and unafraid!

I've got a fair sized arsenal of melee weaponry. Mostly blades.

I think that a sword like a katana or one of those viking swords would be useful to any surviver that just picked it up and started swinging, but that would only last until that person got tired and started to get sloppy. The only way that a weapon, that is not fired, is to be strong and to have the weapon that they know fits right for them.

Actually most WW2 katana are mass produced junk, the are referred to as Gunto or "Bundle swords". Blades from several of the modern chinese forges are infinitely better quality than WW2 Gunto. If you pay under $500 for any katana, it's junk. Unless you train with any kind of sword you are better off with a baseball bat.
