My idea is about a guy who was at a Walmart or some sort of store like that when the dead started rising. With zombies outside everywhere, the people in the store barricade it and try to survive, but bickering about leadership and who makes decisions makes the group of survivers begin to fall apart, and they may start to take sides and have a mini war in the walmart.....

I like it. Like a mixture of Dawn of the Dead (Remake) and The Mist.
and make the movie (semi)-interesting to watch.
I have to agree with Beth, it is not a bad idea but it is not original at all. I would like to see it evolve into something like the "Last Stand of the Wal-Mart emplyoyees".
I'd like a fraction of the inhabitants to go criminally insane due to the harsh conditions so they not only attack each other but instead it becomes a "every man for himself" sort of scenario. The kind of situation where the audience actually start to pick favorites in the movie and backs up their pick's motives and idealism.
Wal-mart is my second target on Z-day (near by pawn shop #1) considering the amount of secondary businesses usually springing up nearby Wal-mart, its probably ripe for looters...you'd have to fight them as equally as zombies.
Maybe a doc on people who've been given medication and have actually reverted from the zombie like state. It sounds kinda stupid, I'll admit, but hearing stories of how they couldn't control themselves would be kinda interesting. Only people who've been bitten should be revertible A good example would be like somebody describing what killing another person was like (snapping of skin, tearing of flesh, taste of blood, screams) and how they watched, but could not physically act.
I think a sams club or costco would be more sufficient. However, I'm not sure if they have guns or not. But they do have steel inforced doors and a huge roof to stay on top of. plus the many luxuries, assuming that the power is still running. There might even be a way to generate power somehow with all the goodies inside that store.
