Basically i have read a couple of different scenarios about what weapon would be best. I am going with a shotgun. Its unmatched all around. The rounds are easy to find and cheap to buy. The shotgun is easy to maintain. Plus it can make a great bludgeoning weapon when ammo is out. It is also easy to re-load. I also like a M-16 type rifle. It holds many rounds in a easy to reload magazine approx 30 rounds. The bullets are easy to make and reload. they have ok stopping power. You are able to send many rounds down range. It has been proven in combat and mostly you can upgrade it.

One must always have a side arm. I prefer a .40 cal pistol. It holds more rounds than a .45 and way more stopping power than a b.s. 9mm. It has stopping power close to a .45 but the drop off to bullet gained ratio is not much so i go with a .40.

I think that if you say "Sniper Rifle" You are truly a retard! Unless you are a trained professional sniper (and I'm guessing you're not) then dont use it. Even with trained snipers who have had this discussion with me have said that they dont think that it has a place in door to door zombie combat survival. Its way too complicated and not feasible. Sniping should be reserved for a fortified position where your distances, bullet drop ratio, elevation, angle of the shot, your rifle 'dope' are standard and known. Then, all you have to do is add in your wind and barometric pressure (depending on the distance). Sniping a head shot on a still target is hard enough then add in all the other variables, next to impossible for the lay-person. See my blog that i wrote in response to an IDIOT who said that he'd use a 'sniper rifle'. I have too much respect for REAL snipers and know enough about it to assume that I can just put the cross hairs on a zack and just pull the trigger. Sniping is NOTHING like in the video games. Get that through your head! Again I am only talking to a small majority on here. The majority of you all have pretty good heads on your shoulders and are smart. You are constantly surprising me with your ideas. I'm basically talking to the pre-pubescent males who play too many video games and seen too many movies.

Oh yeah. You need a primary weapon. If you just have a bat or a crow bar you'll tire yourself out too much too quickly. Its great if thats all you have or if it's your back up weapon but not a primary.

I want to know what you thing about primary weapons, side arms, and reserve weapons and when you should have them or have them all around or with you. What do you think?

BUT....

Zombies-0
Mysterious button that you can shoot with a bb gun easily (like in a cartoon or action movie)-1

You know what else would solve the problem....PUSHING THE BUTTON! or using a shot gun to kill the zombies and then PUSH THIS MAGICAL BUTTON!

This is too much fun for us to quit.

P.S. What up Prime!?

if it is a large number u need something that blows up like a cocktail but a katana is a premium weapon for slicing open a zombie, cuts like butter. i cant use a sniper myself my aim aint shit but i practice with a shot gun or ak 47. but a primary weapon is mostly whatever u can get ur hands on something that wont break. and something u kno that u can work with to ur advantage.
With the katana, you need to make sure that its a REAL katana. Some of the knock offs are so close to the real thing that it's hard to tell. A fake one will break easily and wont do as much damage as one would think. Your on the right track with the shot gun, though and maybe the AK as well. (Not preferred by me due to the crappy accuracy but to each their own).

The thing with the Maltov Cocktail is that it doesn't explode like a bomb (creating a shock wave that basically makes the water in your body blow out your skin). It just ignites, setting a zombie ablaze. Zacks can still move and are not only just as dangerous-since they dont feel pain- but maybe more so dangerous because now if they get you, you catch on fire too. If you are going to blow them up, use a bouncing betty or a claymore.
definately the m-16 bushmaster
ust fucking throw a fucking atomic bomb from a helicopter and the problems are solved, but there could be survivors out there. any kind of weapon can work ust as long u kill the zombie.

the best of a crowbar, hammer and pick axe.
That's a beast of a crow-wrench-hammer you have there, Eric. I'd definitely be happy to carry one of those.

I may be laughed out of the forum for even mentioning this, but has anyone considered a crossbow or compound bow? Admittedly, they leave a bit to be desired as far as range goes, and they require a lot of personal skill for accuracy, but my zombie plan entails a lot of stealth and sticking to rural areas. It seems to me that any weapon that could score a kill when necessary and leave other zombies in the area unaware of your presence could be beneficial in the extreme.

Others might find this impractical, but there is plenty of ammunition in my area (lots of deer hunters), plus spent arrows and bolts can be pulled from downed greyskins. Of course, I plan on keeping a shotgun on hand just in case I end up in the thick.

Any thoughts?
