That way you can shatter the skull and damage the brain with out the risk of cutting youself witht the contaminated blade. I always thought the best melee weapon is one thats better at splitting than cutting.
As for a primary weapon, an assault rifle in 5.56 NATO, preferably plastic-tipped bullets. Plastic-tipped bullets (for those who don't know) are hollow points with a plastic tip on the end. That way you have the effect of a hollow point, but with better aerodynamics. Hollow points were banned from being used in the U.S. military, because they inflicted so much damage, the wounds would be unrepairable and death would be inevitable. They are the next best thing to exploding bullets.

Permalink Reply by EndlessWarrior on September 6, 2011 at 5:10pm Shotguns are the best firearm in close range, as long as you dont mid getting splattered and making noise. Other than close(2-7 feet) range, they are pretty much useless. They will take out a zombie with a skater of shot, but whats the point on firing ten small pellets when a single, more accurate shot will work easier and more quitely? If you ask my opinion, a simple M16 rifle will work fine for a fight between almost any amount of zombies. Easier to reload than a shot gun, quieter and more accurate, semi automatic rifles will outmatch a shotgun any day. other than that, yes, the shotgun ammo is quite easy to find, so it makes the top ten on my list of weapons.
Other than my M16, I would have my trench knives on my hands( I will never stop saying that in a close range fight, nothing is better), as they are designed to peairce steel helmets and skulls. As the average zombie does not wear a steel helmet, peircing a single skull is a peice of cake.
I will have my belt with ammo for my M16 in it, along with ammo for my Magnum pistols, fitting snug in their holsters. My kelvar arm coverings are in place (the zombie will always go for the arm first. I dont know why, but any zombie with sense will grab your arm to hold you in and immobilize you, then bite.) Im thinking of buyin gmore pistols and getting a modified kelvar vest so I can be epic like this guy

I suggest you watch the movie, IT IS FUCKING AWESOME.
I have categories for my weapons.
Side Arm: Beretta 92. Its a standard side arm and can be found easily on cops I believe. The gun can hold alot of rounds in its magazine and it is powerful.
Melee: I say Katana. If you have a flexible steel katana, then youre set. If stainless steel, youre fucked.
Shot Range: Benelli M4. It's a powerful shotgun and is a standard shotgun for police departments. It holds a lot of rounds as well, along with an amazing stopping power with it's 12 gauge rounds.
Medium Range: M4 assault rifle. It is by far not standard, but it's the best when it comes to this range. It has great stopping power.
Long Range: I hate snipers. But alas, I'll add one in. McMillan Tac-50. Its a sniper. I dont care really its stopping power, or any of that. I can't fire it, there'd be to much work.
I am particular to the Bushmaster 5.56 caliber assault rifle. It has room for multiple attachments(optics, flashlight, etc.), both civilians and military have access to ammo and parts, and it can carry a multitude of magazine sizes, from 10 rounds up to 200. The rounds have fantastic stopping power and aren't difficult to find, but at the same time they aren't as heavy as some of the aforementioned rounds. As for a sidearm, I would choose a glock 19 in .40 caliber, just to keep things simple and easy to operate, not to mention they're easy as hell to unholster in a pinch. Bladed weapons would be a must, and I don't like the idea of having to get up close with a knife. I am a trained swordsmen and would go with nothing else but a trusty Shinsakuto Samurai sword, as they are the best made swords to date. Don't get me wrong, I'd have a knife on me as well. I like the idea of a trench knife but i dislike that it would be long and hard to unsheath quickly. I would go with a folding spring assisted knife, or a switchblade if I could find one. That's my 2 cents, lol, thanks for reading!
Permalink Reply by Cory King on February 27, 2013 at 8:18am I would use an M-16 beacuse you can eaisily pick off zombies from far away with it and it can hold a lot of ammo. If you get a three round burst M16 insted of automatic you can conserve ammo. I would also use a G-18 beacuse it's eaisy to carry and good for killing hordes. A chain could pick up speed and hit a zombie pretty hard in the head.
