Remember, every weapon has its pro's and con's.... Keep that in mind....
So ask away....
Also, here is what made McNeal ask me to do this in the first place, its a discussion between KillRoy911 and Myself (Baulchtopher)...
The Ak-47 is what many people in the world consider to be one of the best weapons ever created. The ammo is always easy to find as it is one of the most shot calibers in the world 7.62x39mm, terrorist organizations, governments worldwide, armies, you name it, its been there. The weapon is so versatile that it is said you take the rifle, drop it in mud, dirt, sand, shit, or what have you, bury it there, come back week later, and be able to fire off an entire magazine with a single misfire. The downside to gun? Would probably have to be lack of accessories for it... You can buy them but you would have to probably but a seperate mount for them... It is the most used weapon in the entire world, and to quote somebody from the Discover Channel's, Best 10 of.... "If I had to go to Mars and fight a hostile Alien race, and could only take one gun? That gun would be an AK-47" or something to that affect (I was paraphrasing) Most AK's are fairly easy to clean and keep up, they are also incredibly cheap. Some of the others that you can more easily attach accessories would be the Galil, or the AK-105... It also weighs close to 10 pounds empty, which could hamper if you are carrying alot of equipment...
The drum magazines have a tendency to blow up, so I wouldnt recommend them, when using a drum magazine the spring inside of it is so long to be able to hold all the rounds that it continues to loop around and around inside like the shell of a snail, and when enough rounds are fired through it the metal heats up and cause a the rounds to 'cook-off' prematurely possibly injuring yourself or other people.... A simple 3-point tactical sling would work great
the really, really long bananna clips? yeah, but I would fire in short controlled bursts, semi-auto (single shot) would be the best... Word of advice to everyone, never, ever, EVER, fire in full-auto, all your going to do is waste ammo you dont have, and do nothing to that advancing horde coming at you
I'd like to add to the 60 round mags... if ever you needed a 60 round mag instead of a 30 round one, meaning you didn't have time to reload every 30 shots, you'd probably be a dead man anyway...
