This is a good idea. We could actually just start the competition as a discussion here in the group and everybody just upload their stories as a blog then post the link in the competition thread/discussion to their blog stories their choosing to enter on their page. I'll message Laz and Skot also and ask to.
"I have an odd writing method. When I sit down to write a chapter I quite often have no idea what is going to happen next.I read back what I have, the movie starts playing in my mind and I start writing down whats happening and what the characters are saying. My characters are very real to me, each one I know like an old friend and I try to convey as much as I can of their history so the reader gets to know them too." Wow, Ron, that's EXACTLY what I do too. Who knew. I also just kick back and think of what COULD happen, and what couldn't. See, you can't just have a zombie come flying over a one-hundred foot concrete wall, so you have to think of other, more sensible ways an infected could get in. Sewers? Maybe... Someone accidentally opening the door? Bingo. You just have to keep your noggin' open, and somethin'll come crawling in. Hopefully not a zombie.
try to start as few sentences as possible with "I" - switch up the sentence structure.

also a lot of times just going back and turning something like "was running" to "ran" makes things read a lot better.

and fuck your own outlines, if you know exactly where you want a story to go but it takes a turn, follow the turn instead of drawing back and sticking to the outline. if you don't like what comes out you can always go back and re-write it as planned.

that's all i got :) good to be back, peoples.
i act out my situation...this works best when no one is around so try to avoid any cyber cafe or McDonalds *i take advantage of the free WIFI they have*
I get writers block A LOT. I find that just writing anything helps a little bit. Like shorts. Reading other stories helps even more. My motto as a writer?

"Creativity inspires Creativity."
i try to put myself in the [picture swhat would i do, who would i be likly bump into. i've only submitted a couple of pieces and they involved my emotions and instincts (which is bad as i left my wife to die)

The only problem with this though came when i realised i would end up hideing for ages and started to write about this thought and it went nowhere further than the loft. maybe i'll submit it oneday.

My dam muse has got and left me 1/2 way through the last chapter in the Trilogy.

If you see her send her back.
