Lost Zombies

So I thought since there were no discussions I would start one...

Is there an existing timeline, theme or backstory that we should all be following?

For instance is there a standard cause that we should all be referring to? Or is each group just making it up as they go along?

aside from the Call to actions what is the grand vision here at lost zombies? Sorry if I sound "lost" (no pun intended) but having just joined I can't seem to locate any of this information.

So is there a mission statement or anything for Lost Zombies?

Ok, instead of talking about our mission, why not talk about what we're going to do. No better time to get started.

How about the documentary could be segmented. Not like one you see on TV where it was a start, middle, and end. But many parts, different outbreaks, different people, different stories.

This way, it maximizes our talents and skills. One group could focus on a segment that revolves around woods, that way they can use what they have and not worry about finding suppiles. Another could do an abandoned building and such.

I think Lost is doing a great job with this website. I think what Lost is looking for is the creativity and indaviduality of each member, if you think about it if there was guide lines the members wouldn't be able to show just how much imagination they have. Me and my friend have been going by the guide lines of the Max Brooks books, zombie survival guide and world war z. But we still use our imaginations and come up with some great stuff, but if every body was going by the same guide lines you would end up with a lot of the same videos or other proof.

I think the approach you're taking is really great. I feel that in your pieces we really get a feeling of people dealing with this in a realistic way.

Many of the other pieces, especially the seed videos I submitted, are short with lots of action. Those pieces are good for drawing people to the site but in order to sustain interest over a feature length movie the audience will need to have some characters they can follow and get to know.

Great work.

Trav & Potter both spell out a good point that we've all been leaning towards but I hadn't caught it till now...

"Timeline" need not mean just "Zombie Zero" to what ever point in the story we go- I see our timeline in this instance as Frederico Fellini's "A film has a beginning, middle and end- but not necessarily in that order!".

What constitutes our timeline in the film?

Do we do this in a "Charles Foster Cain" sort of way where the end is actually the beginning?

We have an intrepid reporter who's witness to all kinds of fantastical things with civilians, medical professionals, soldiers [etc] climaxing back to the starting point- and perhaps an answer that [at least in the story's case] puts us back at the beginning with more questions than when we started?

This type of environment lends itself well to the premise of discovery, enlightenment- prediction, predication and finally discovered ignorance- Orson Welles at it's finest...

Just a suggestion. [sheepish grin]

ok here what my thought is.
the outbreak would more than likely be a virus. then i got to thinking how would a virus inhibit a human so much that they have no morality or conceptual thought? well itd have to mess with the brain. Like rabies, makes the host aggressive and very primal. so the virus that i have dubbed Neorhabdovirus. or New Rabies attacks the body and attaches to the white blood cell, like most virus' (but commonly they attach to red for the oxygen) and it releases a hormone of its own that induces change in the body by weakening the X chromosome. By doing this the body goes thru rapid change, vital signs decrease to bare minimum, agression is high because the Y chromosome is increased thus releasing more testosterone into the body well rabies and testosterone mixed? blind fury, blood lust, and hunger to release it. There in is your zombie! whatcha think?

i think valid points are being made by everyone, but i tend to agree with potters field. not necessarily a strict time line but more or less ground rules. such as fast or slow, how long infection takes, do you come back after you die if your bitten or not. and do you want to focus on early stages or continue up to full scale infection like in world war z. just general info, nothing specific on how it started or anything. that could lend to some interesting conspiracy theory type origins in user submissions. or you could even bring back the call to actons to shape the story and get footage/pics you might need. for example, have a call to action called end of the journey, that could provide clips suchs as rescue or being trapped and provide posible endings of story arcs. nation undead is doing a similar thing by dividing people up in zones, and each zone has a specific task, outbreak, migration etc. i think a similar loose structure would actual increase variety and bring out some really good stuff. these are just my suggestions and im certainly not trying to offend or make enemies. i just think this is a really good idea/project and think it could really be great and i want to see that happen. that being said, these are my suggestions, but this is the lost zombies ship, steer it how you want, ill still be a happy crewman. boy that was dumb.

ok levi, i think you have made the most sense out of everyone. Its not like were all scientists with petri dishes analyzing the every movement of the infected's blood. We only have spectulations and theories. and thats how it in the best way could be run. No solid factual info(my bad) but loose run and gun theories of the surviviors. This could leave it open to the God and Rapture theory along with hell speculations and viruses. Thus adding to the overall feel of the film!!!!!
