Ok folks, I have been authorized by my current command to give a power-point GMT training on basic Zombie survival ( I know I can't believe I actually convinced them to let me do it). I need as much info as I can get. I already have the Zombie Survival Guide but I am looking for any other info I can get my hands on. Remember this is going to be a no-shit military training topic so... thanks for any help in advance.

First, congrats on convincing your bosses. Second, if you have access to a dot mil computer then you have a lot of survival references available. the Air Force portal or Army Knowledge center can direct you to the online libraries. The general survival information can be tweaked to have a zombie 'flavor'.

you should tell them how to deal with infeccted both friends unknown and familily the rising crime rates and obviosly how to treat wounds on survivors good luck
There are a couple papers put out by CDC on CONUS military actions during pandemic. There pretty good on organizational task tables for an "unspecified" viral outbreak. They may be of use. See if you can find anything in OPLAN "Garden Plot", should give some kind of force response time line.
World War Z is a really good book to read as well. It could be that Max Brooks is a god damned genius when it comes to the horde

So are you doing this as the official safety standown GMT type thing or what? Thats amazing. If its formatted like a reglar standown, you can incorporate all kinds of stuff thats not in Brooks' guide, but in traditional vietnam/wwII era survival guides. (i.e. gotta be quiet around zed right? So put your socks on over your boots to muffle your footfall - a la Field Marshall Gerd von Rundstedt during the German advance at the battle of the bulge)

Probably too late - doubly so because if your GMT schedule is anything like mine then you've already given it. But also an excellent resource on guerilla tactics, several of which center upon being a one-man-wrecking-machine, and/or how to organize a civilian militia to endure a prolonged occupied force and through guerilla attraition defeat it, can be found in the book "Total Resistance" by Hans von Dach.  It was actually issued to all Swiss civilians during the Cold War. I mean, it is a conventional tactics books in many regards, but holds a lot more water when applied to Zed scenarios than a lot of manuals.

Anyway, I'm interested in how this did, didn't, or does work out for you. And if its got nothing in it that is classified (can't imagine why it would) I'd be really interested in seeing what you ultimately came up with. I've been passively writing a story/screenplay type narrative depicting the prolonged navy-centric reaction to a zombie meltdown, and one of the scenes i've always imagined is the protagonist sitting through a boring ass GMT of zed safety before hitting a patrol to go kick some ass. Haha, kind of in the nature of Independence Day before the aliens beat the shit out of the jet pilots.
