An outbreak map of wv (counties)

Alright...the counties of West Virginia...

So here's a few questions I need to ask so I get a better idea of what this map will be like:

1. How will this map be different from just a larger version of something that is already on our USA counties map?

2. What purpose will this map serve? How will it be different from the USA counties map in this regard?

3. Can you submit a picture of which map you might use?

I'm just a little skeptical of this one being just a larger version of something we already have...when all you would have to do is report the counties and it would be recorded and done anyways...

Currently I am concidering how to make a map of the world, so that we can have reports from other countries, but without having the map be too blank, if it is to be similar to the Lost Zombies US Counties Map.

I was thinking we could do reports by countries, and how many are currently in each country, to show the overall state of the world...but I'm not sure how well that could be pulled off...

But anyways, I would really like to have a world map added to the Accepted Projects discussion, so any help or suggestions as to how people would like to see this pulled off would be appreciated...

You need a Canadian map. Just because we have less of a chance of an outbreak happening thanks to our eight month winters doesn't mean we still can't get them.

Alright. Any ideas for how we could make it any more specific, narrow it down to...provinces? Or whatever you guys have up there... Or even more specific than that?

Can you explain this a little more? How would we go about making this map? What would it look like? What map would we use as a starting point?

We need to get more maps up in this group. I still would really like to have more maps of areas we already have, and since the only one we have right now is the US, we should at least start by expanding on that (anyone else can make maps for other countries as well, remember...)

I don't know if we actually have enough information to do this, but it would be cool to start sort of a zombie tracking map, that is updated monthly based on zombie locations and movement. I'm not quite sure how this would work, but it would probably be based mostly on firsthand accounts and recognition of individual zombies. We could even make it as simple as doing the same thing, only with the movement of zombies around your local area.

Thoughts? Ideas? I'd just like to see this group producing more maps, and it's not going to happen unless people start submitting more ideas...

Dude, in a zombie apocalypse, I think the states & providence idea would cease to exist... Whatever power that is left after the government stops functioning would arrange the country by sectors. Survivors would still say that they are hiding in California or Arkansas, but they won't have satellite images at their disposal.

If you want to use an easy way to make a map of the United States that looks like it were organized by whoever's keeping track of the infection, find a map that doesn't have state lines, and put a grid over it. Label the sections, go up to max. of 100 to keep complexity down, and the more zombies reported in a section, the darker a transparent fill for that section would be filled in.

That makes sense. Maybe I'll do both. The map we have now isn't supposed to have been done by the government... It's not really supposed to look like it was done by anybody other than us...

And you also have to remember that according to the timeline, the government has ceased to exist. So essentially, any maps made by the government would have to show reports made before November 19th, 07.

But yeah, I get what you're saying, and it would probably be a good idea to have both maps at the same time. Any chance you would be interested in making them, since you seem to have it down already? It would be cool to use a satellite map too...like the one above. That would probably be perfect actually. Would you be willing to make one, using that map, and based off of the information from the USA Outbreak map?
