I've decided that, to make a claim that an area is a dead zone, might be something that is just a little bit too risky to accept at face value. We just received our first report of a dead zone earlier, and I wasn't quite sure what to do with it. I asked if the person would elaborate and explain a little more, but I received no reply. I added it to the map simply because I know it can always be edited out/changed later, but the reason I'm posting this discussion is this:

We can't just accept dead zone reports at face value, because...like I said, it's quite a claim to be making, and the implications of what each one of those dead zones means are then far too great to be ignored. So...how can we filter through these claims, so that only the most factual and obvious ones are shown on the map? I was thinking about a series of questions that must be asked every time a person claims that a zone is dead, but I wanted everyone's opinions and thoughts before I just came up with it on my own...

So, narrowing this discussion down a bit...simply come up with some questions that could be asked. Use your best judgement in what would be important to ask...

So...

What does everyone think?

Some obvious suggestions, since nobody seems to have any of there own (maybe I can get something started)

What was the original population of the county reported?
How many zombies have you sighted for sure?
How many have actually been previously reported?
What was the method with which you sighted them...?

I don't know, I'm just starting to throw out some random stuff now, but people, we need help! Without a series of questions that can be asked, our map will be horribly inaccurate!
Alright then... Accepting it at face value it is.
Considering an area as a "Dead Zone" could be controversial.... Does a "Dead Zone" mean there's ABSOLUTELY no intelligent life? If so then I'm certain you cannot call all of California, or anywhere else in America, a dead zone. There is bound to be at least one intelligent person bound up in their home.

If a "Dead Zone" could be considered an area completely zombified, with a few undetectable individuals, then yes, more areas could be considered "Dead Zones", but there are still areas out there that have large groups of survivors (20+) and are holding out. If these areas aren't "Dead Zones", than there shouldn't be more than one or two dead zones in North America. I mean, in some countries with remote cities or villages, you could consider them dead zones if the whole city were taken, and the zombies couldn't likely spread anywhere else. The city would be silent with no survivors, and I mean NO survivors.

So the idea of a Dead Zone should be defined to the dot...

Is it completely Abandoned?
Can there be Undetected Individuals?
Can there be large groups Left?
Well, as of now, a dead is zone is any area where the zombie population outnumbers or is equal to the last pre-outbreak population of humans.
oh, really? Then, California is DEFINETELY a dead zone. In fact, the map we have is pretty inaccurate, as there'd be hundreds of dead zones by now. What time was the map created?
Actually, your questions kinda cover everything.
No denying.

Well, you can't really measure zombie count accurately. One person from a county will report their findings but it is solely their own account. Unless a million people from California report otherwise, then it'll remain a deadzone.
i theank we should put a team to clear dead zones
im not sure how this will help but my house in cooper city florida is right down the road from a hospital and lately there been a lare increase in its activity. i dont know if its zeds or not but its getting bad. more peaple are going there by the day...
What was the original population of the county reported? - The known number of survivors reporting in to Lost Zombies + their group number. Seems a good formula for figuring zombie populations all other areas would have to be considered population unknown.
