puntian

puntian or puntianak is an undead ghoul/creature (esp.) women which was died restlessly after being a victim of murder (usu. rape victim) or passed away when or after giving birth. Looking for her prey (usu.) a pregnant woman, small children or any living human at night. Common in Malay archipelago and Borneo.

There is a very similar legend in Lakota (American Sioux Indian) folklore--the two-faced woman also preys on pregnant women and tries to force them to miscarry.
