The zeds destroyed the gardens and got in, oh I dunno how long ago a few days. The Rabbi, Tony, Casey and Sam didnt make it. Gene, Cynthia, Aurelia and the children and I managed to take the truck and as much ammo, food and water as we could. It was horrible, they...they..just mangled them...tore them apart...The Rabbi died trying to use a shovel to plug the gap in the fence, he told me to get out as they began to tear at his arms...

Spring has strung up here on the 5 mile praire. Its been raining alot, which has softened the ground tremendously. We have started to plan our gardens for later in the spring, tomatoes, wheat, potatoes, squash, strawberries, ect. The rotters havent been much of a problem, only a few sporradic attacks. I went into town yesterday, to check on the house and St. Johns, the letter I wrote is still tacked to the door. I guess we will just have to wait and see if anyone comes back.

I woke up tonight in a cold sweat. The nightmares presist, they all start the same.

It starts with me sitting at home, looking out the window of my living room. Its a summer day, sunny, beautiful, idillic. But then I hear screams, the sky darkens and death engulfs my perfect world. Its funny how things that seem so expected, so mundane before the infection hit can mean so much now. A hot meal, a warm bed, friends, laughter. While salvaging today, I came across a vending machine that was still intact. I broke it open and took all the Snickers, M&Ms, Reese's, and other candies I could carry. I took most of them home, but I did eat a few Reese's Peanutbutter Cups before I made it back to the Praire School.
