You've provided some excellent information on all things latex. What kind of experience do you have with make-up FX? It is an amateur interest (like my own) or have you done professional work before?

Also, I've posted quite a few pictures of my attempts with zombie make-up to my profile. I would be grateful for any opinions or suggestions you might have regarding them. Anything that can improve my generally sloppy work!

Wished I looked that good [still]...

Sadly Christian Bale has a couple of things going for him that I don't.

Hair.
A modicum of youth.

Still- we both look good in black [basic or Kevlar]
We both have vastly better moves than something Tai-Chi
We know how to make the girls scream with more than an English accent [Rar!]

Very nice to meet you C'7!

If you want to put all that great info into one 'uber-post' in the workshop, we can feature it so it is basically a 'sticky' which everyone can read.

I see.... Yeah I know what simunition.... What were using was a standard weaponry, firing blanks (notice the red blank-firing attachment affixed to front of the barrel) all the other gear on the weapon emits a high-strength laser pulse that acts as a round hit in wargames.... We wear large vests and other gear with laser recievers that score a "hit" and stop the persons weapon from firing the pulses.... Thats what that gear was... Its called MILES gear, and in essence is high-speed modern Laser Tag, over a much larger area, but of course, they stuff was awesome about 15 years ago... Now? Not so much

So- Who's Into Latex- Hmmmm..?

Since joining Lost Zombies, there's been some questions concerning the use of 'rubber/latex' for film work- to which I think it's about time I ponied up a little help & hopefully some enlightenment to your options when it comes to creating our ghoulish friends.

There's 2 things to remember when it comes to liquid latex- well; actually that's a lie, there's more than 2- more like a 1000 things- but let's start from the basics...

1 There's more than one type of latex.

What's Outside Your Window? What Exactly Brought You Here?

I happened to be watching the Blade Runner compilation DVD included in the big "Voight Kamph" collectors edition...

Something I'd never known concerning the making of the film was that prior to script editing, Ridley Scott's older brother had recently died [memory serves, it was cancer..?].

Ridley's style and conceptualization of the script for "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" took a decidedly "dark-er" step as the feelings of guilt and remorse, pain and sadness flooded many days o… Continue

Test... Test... Is This Thing On..?

Simply wanted to see how this particular blogging tool worked...

Not sure how I'll best utilize this. I was actually going to try a stab at doing my own blog from the Blogger/Google thing- but there are obviously others who have made much better sites than anything I could have dreamed up!

I may create some fictional world here- or perhaps do write-ups on FX for those of us on a shoe-string budget. Perhaps a little bit of both. We'll see.

For now- this is simply a test to see how the blog wor… Continue

What you don't know is that he's just saying what's effective in L4D.
Flashbangs don't affect zombies, because they rely just as much on hearing and smell as vision.
